Personally I prefer the sound with the baffle. It's more muffled and grunty instead of screaming it's face off.

The SV650's also like back pressure so these bikes run much better with baffles left in

@@GorolGronu pretty much any engine will prefer back pressure as it will get rid of unnecessary fumes quicker. This bike now will most likely need new fuel maps to restore it's power... I bet it lost a bit of mid-range.

i think its a small cat, and the sound muffling is not done all at the same section. its the same as in the GSX S750. thats why you get awesome sound just by installing a slip on. while on most other bikes,they have bigger cat and muffling done at the same spot. they sound the same whether or not you have a muffler on. as if the muffler is there just for the looks.

@@alphacapo probably because of the disposable nature of stock mufflers, which doubles as cost reduction. Dont spend money developing something which most people will replace anyway.

@@alphacapo have to disagree, looks are pretty important. What i meant by just for looks, is that the sound doesnt change much if you just change the mufflers, in the case of bikes with big cats. And, its better to put a removable muffler, so that we may opt for replacing just the muffler or the entire system.

This bro here, yammie noob, inspired me and im so happy getting myself an sv650x. Bought it after buying the standard sv650 and now im sporting the X version which is actually one hell of a good looking bike. I do have uploaded a video of the ones i bought. Slapped a yoshi exhaust on it and had an actual run with it. Keep inspiring yammie boy 😊👍🏻

Definitely getting a 2022 sv650 with this exhaust later this year. Having owned a 1200 sportster and a fz-09, this seems like the best of both worlds.

I got me a leather Trayvax and I love it. I’ve had it for at least 4 years at this point and I can’t tell y’all how many times I’ve fallen off dirt bikes, mountain bicycles, skateboards, rolled around under cars sitting on it ect and it hasn’t skipped a beat. Every day it gets a little bit more worn in. Love it.

I GOTTA KNOW WHICH EXHAUST IS BEST FOR THIS BIKE??? I'm a yoshimura fan but my last SV1000S had dual Leo Vincé and I thought they were awesome! Now looking at the Yoshimura Alpha carbon fiber for this 2019 sv650x I just brought home yesterday!

It sounds great! just like a real bike should sound. I like a loud pipe on mine because it hides the clattering and knocking noises that make me reluctant to rev it out to 11,000. I was expecting to throw a rod but my new loud pipe has made it sound healthy and strong. Yeehaaaa!!!

Night and day difference! It might just be the sound through my headphones, but as wonderful it sounds on power and deceleration, that idle tone is kind of atrocious. Maybe thats where the baffles come into play?

I love that bike so much, want one so badly! But.. very happy to be past the adolescent stage where I feel a great need for more noise: without the baffles that's too much; it's loud enough with them in, for sure. That's the wrong sound for that bike, IMO. I would agree that the factory pips are a bit.. soulless, considering the sweet sound of the engine, but no: that's too much.

Also, in addition to the adolescent bit; putting on a new, more easy-flowing muffler without doing some work to the air-intake and remapping the engine is to me the same as putting go-faster stickers on a bike..

Z650 & Ninja650 don't sound as good, because their parallel twins have the wrong crank offset, which is why Yamaha's parallel twins sound better, due to their crank offset.

Keep the baffles in. Sounds much nicer when they are installed. Still powerful, but without that annoying drone to it.

man bun "the sign of a good exhaust is when it doesn't pop n bang, no explosions" uh excuse me sir but you just shit on my personal definition of an ideal exhaust- i want them pops bangs and 'explosions' as u called it. i *need* them pops, fireballs, want it all... need it all.. I'm trying to get a bike, but can't afford a r1, zx6r, cbr600rr or 1000.. seems only bike i can afford is this sv650, with 4 different choices... i like how they look, not a fan of the sound, i hear nothing but good things about them, but they're anything but a fast bike from what I've found... i had an r1 a friend gave me and i loved it, loved it- became my DD on Day 1, only thing i didn't like was how high it sat up.. i really really want a zx6r
