In this video, I'll teach you a more advanced version of Shane Ban Boening's aiming system. I learned this system directly from Shane a couple weeks ago. So this will be Shane's most updated version of his aiming system. Make sure to check out the previous video as I go over the basics and reasoning behind Shane's system.

I think one important thing to note is that you need to know your shaft's pivot point for BHE in order to negate deflection properly since lower deflection shafts have pivot points further away from the tip compared to something like a house cue. Great video though! Very simple explanation but very effective and straight to the point :)

Interesting take. I was watching the lineup on one of the shots and I noticed a (micro adjustment) which is fine. It will depend on which eye is dominant how much adjustment needs to be made and how much of a problem of being too thick is. A great way to get close to perfect and then learn to adjust based on your own vision.

I Bet it didn't do sh$t for your game. Been a player for 50 years seen a 100 aiming systems an NONE of them work in every situation and most don't work at all, if you can't stroke the ball straight first. Stop looking for a magic pill , there is none. Its all about work, knowledge , and training if there was a magic aiming pill we would all never be missing and how many people do you know that never misses? I'm going to gues NONE even Shane misses sometime, did his system fail him or did he just miss-stroked the shot?

This is a very cool way to think about cut shots. I would assume that FHE can be used as well once the aim is established. BHE and FHE are very situational and sometimes used in combination. BHE is where you use the shaft to pivot to the point on the ball to apply English and FHE is where you use the aiming hand to move to the English point. BHE is best with short and/or fast shots, and FHE is best for long and/or slow shots.

I'm not a BHE or FHE kinda guy when I want spin. Much more comfortable using parallel English, which is what I thought most pros use, no? You just have to compensate by aiming to hit the object ball a tad fuller compared to the exact same cut with no spin used. Works like a charm!

Front hand English is parallel English. You aim natural contact point first then move your bridge hand to apply the english, no compensation. Back hand English u move your grip hand to apply English hence compensate for deflection.

@TheBilliardCorner
@TheBilliardCorner 4 жыл бұрын
There are certainly limitations to his aiming system. It would depend on how the two balls are positioned. I'd imagine If two balls are too close and you cannot see the edge of the object ball, the shot is either low percentage, not makable or at the limit of Shane's aiming system. I would be looking to play safe in that instance. Feel free to post a video showing how the two balls are positioned. Maybe I can get a better understanding on the specific shot you are mentioning. Thanks for your comment fam.

@@TheBilliardCorner You have to look over the top of the ball. I'm playing with this system for about two weeks now. I get confused on very short shots and angles closer to straight in shots but over al improved long shot cuts and any cuts by 50 %.

A question in regards to where your lining up the the different parts of the ferrule. If extreme cut to left, your using the left edge of the ferrule. The question is. Are you postioned at the center of the cb with the left edge or is the ferrule at the center and then using the left edge for the cut. Where is the starting postion of the ferrule, on the left side at center cb aimed at the edge.
@josepatino23
@josepatino23 3 жыл бұрын
He’s hitting the cue ball w center ball, but he’s using the edge of the ferrule as a reference point, so yes the middle of the ferrule is aligned with the center of the cb, but using the edge as an aiming reference. If you were to place the edge of the ferrule on the center of the cb, you will put inside/outside english on the ball.

In this video, I use a 12.9mm shaft. I've tested this aiming system with a 12mm shaft and it still works. For a slight cut, I just aim the contact point since it's a rather easy shot. Shane's aiming system is mainly for difficult cut shots. Thanks for the love fam.

@TheBilliardCorner
@TheBilliardCorner 4 жыл бұрын
Acep Ahmad Generally speaking, left side of ferule for left cut, right side of ferule for right cut. As explained in the video, if it’s a very slight cut (not a lot of angle), there’s really no need to use the system as it’s practically straight in. I might do a live Q&A where I can show you on my table if we get enough people/questions.

So there's an aiming system I like that I made up when I was twenty 23. I go from the edge of the cue ball closest to middle of table and look at that line between it and the object ball edge closest to rail then I split that line down the middle. After I find my contact point standing strait up. That way I have two references to aim at at once. Then I split the cue from the top into a quarter ball from the top and I've got three aiming references per shot On hard cuts there isn't a better way in my opinion

This is pretty much the system I use. Different parts of the ferrule along the edge of ball. Pretty objective. At extreme cuts I look through just one eye to overlap the very edge of the balls. I don’t think the edge of ferrule gets close enough to edge of ball at this extreme. I think you are lining up even further than the edge when you’re shooting these kind of shots in the vid. You’re making an adjustment to go further out but not realizing it.

Start playing around with this concept on the pool table and figure out where you need to aim on the ferule to cut the ball. In the video, I've given you the basic ideas so you can internalize it and make it work for your game. Depending on the cue and shaft combination that you have, you may be aiming at different sections of the ferule. Thanks for watching fam.

hmm, I think I need to take the time and write a python script to simulate this aiming method: analysing the deviation of the contact point to the ideal ghostball contact point as a function of cut angle, cueball to object ball distance and tip diameter - - - would be interesting, if the 5 aiming zones can actually objectively cover all of the cut angle range at all conceivable shot distances or this is just a perception thing and just another way to reformulate that you aim by subconcious intuition^^

Almost more accurate to learn referencing, even the shots you demonstrated weren’t dead center

@@xDuWuTang Some people use ghost ball, some people CTE, some people just go by feel. Whatever works for you is the best system. Efren said in an interview that he doesn't use any aiming system and he was one of the (if not the) best. Just play pool and have fun :)

" I'll teach you a more advanced version of Shane Ban Boening's aiming system. " Well then I should be seeing you beating Shanes Ass next tourney he is in but I"m sure that isn't going to happen. Because the trick isn't aiming its delivering the cue properly to the cueball. It's all about STROKE!

Man i hate how he so good at pool already that he consider the 5-15 degree technically a straight in shot which its not for beginner

I tried this and 9 of 10 shots were undercut. And are these all center CB shots....no English?
@TheBilliardCorner
@TheBilliardCorner 4 жыл бұрын
Center ball hit UNLESS you want to put English using the back hand English method as shown in this video. Watch the first video on my channel, I go over the basics of his aiming system. Where you aim on the ferule depends on how steep the cut is. So play around with it and fine tune your aiming.

Hi! Since it is a machine translation, please forgive the rudeness and meaninglessness of the words. Can you show your commentary in a diagram? Simple and clear. This is a aim not found in Japan. If you have a detailed picture drawing and I'm convinced, I'd like to pay you $ 100, even if it doesn't make sense. Can you provide it as a PDF file or video with several pages like a how-to book? I will pay the same price for your sincerity and effort even if I am not satisfied with the result. I think the method is a bank account, but I follow the method you want. In the worst case, I never reply for more than 3 days. But there are one or two days.

I don't think this aiming system is very good, if you take a good look when you pot the ball, it didn't go in the heart of the pocket, especially on those cut shots. This would be a miss on a 4 inch pocket
