I would really like to see Exlex finished and sailing. I wish it was me. I have enjoyed watching the progress nearly every episode shortly after it is uploaded for over a year. Best wishes for the Oceanic Philosopher.

I assume the transport went well. But one observation. From what I could see. The boat was secured to the top of the pallet and the pallet secured at the bottom to the trailer. So basically the weakest points where the nails holding the pallet together. Something to think about when securing big valuable cargo. And a comment for the algorithm. Congratulations to the new owner. Looking forward to see the progress on the new project.

The best is the enemy of the good, it is perhaps from this principle that the failure of Exlex comes. It took me more than ten years to write a book, always wanting to change and correct. In the end, it didn't look like anything anymore, so I cut the manuscript down to about a hundred pages before giving it to my editor. What a waste of time!

Is she is going close enough that you can supervise or at least advise on its completion? I hope so. She is a beautiful boat even unfinished and it would be a great story to see her next stage in life, even if she has some flaws you have moved on to fix. Best wishes to her and to you on your new boat Mr Yrvind.

So close yet so far.. As you already had the masts and sails it seems a shame you did not rig it and take it out for sea trials first, at least just to see how it behaved and then apply what could be learned to the next one.

What's embarrassing about changing plans? People do it all the time. Some are just not brave enough to do it as early as it should be done. On the other hand, people can actually argue "you should stick with it" and sometimes that's the right approach - but without all the information at hand, neither you or I can make that call in this particular case. And then we have people who live in their own heads only and rarely possess the ability to put themselves in other people's shoes and without the slightest bit of relevant information will talk trash online. I guess you have made it very clear which type you are. And congrats on also letting us all know that keyboard warrior couch sailors are a thing, too.

The biggest problem is that people have been helping him. They believed the boat would be finished relatively soon and he'd sail it. Now he starts over. Will people help him again?
@AntiVaganza
@AntiVaganza 3 ай бұрын
@@deezynar Some will, some won't. What their money doesn't buy them is the right to moan about it or tell him how he should live his life. They didn't buy a product. They helped an old guy try to fulfill a dream and now the dream has changed. They also did not buy the right to see him sail off into the blue. They bought the right to feel good about helping someone else, that's how they should view it. But you are right, if this means he wont be able to make the next boat happen, that's a problem. Also, while I do believe Sven has every right to make his own decisons I also think it would be a smart move to make a video explaining in detail why the change of heart (I don't think he has yet?). And in that same video explain that he knows this can be upsetting to some but that he is not giving up. Basically, page 1 of proper crisis management: share real, honest information so that people don't start making up all sorts of weird explanations themselves.
