All the Scandinavian countries have fought wars against eachother, been part of treaties with eachother and even been part of the same country. They all share a lot of the same culture and most of the "hate" is all in good fun. Like play fighting between siblings. When it actually boils down to it I think all the scandinavian countries see the others as brothers, the fighting is just about who is the big brother (its sweden).

How I would describe Norwegian is it is like English but mixed in a bowl with eggs with a few eggs missing but enough to get somewhat of a clue of what someone is saying yet more understandable than Swedish and Danish.

@@Luigi_Cadorna well I do happen to like the history of both Sweden and Norway. For example I like Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden who made Sweden a great power. That is what I think as an American. I did take into account that most Vikings were Norwegian so their version of Norse may have played a role in Norwegian being the easiest Scandinavian language for English speakers to learn.
