Love that sound for what they were built to do on a road course. Love the corvette and I get teary eyed riding along.

Great video. Loved watching the vette leaving the porsches in the dust. Funny seeing a studebaker in the race. The red comet was doing well also. The driver deserves accolades for his skill.

I'm thinking the lead Vette is one of the old Greewood vette's ...and if so well they were always the class of the pack with really well worked over 427 L88s with Drive lines to match ..Brutal competition .and a handful to hold on too ....Smiles ear to ear the entire race ..

Way to battle back, Matt! I had a similar experience at Rose Cup a few years back, in a packed 54 car ITE field. An early off, battled back to 5th over-all. While not getting the podium, it was one of my favorite drives, working through the field to make up for the early mistake...

Exhilarating footage, all these big production film companies have to do is watch stuff like this to model after, no sound effects or mixing to ruin the real music. Most racing or driving movies are a let down in this arena they just can't keep it real with pure and simple unmolested mechanical music.
@joemccarthy59786 жыл бұрын
Now is that a stock 427 or has it been gone over? What are the rules for motors do they have to be the cubic inches the car was built with or what? i seen a couple. Of what looked like L81's not sure iff those dudes were sand baging or didant have the power..

The white #37 Corvette was recently listed on BaT ... bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-chevrolet-corvette-43/ ... nice car, and fast. I never understand why some drivers "blatt" "blatt" blatt" the throttle through the corners if they had a smooth throttle technique, they'd have faster corner speed, and less spin outs.

Excellent! Man, some of those backmarkers and field-filler guys wouldn't know an apex if it bit them in the ass. Apparently they have the funds to either buy a car or have one built...so they can go out and play "race driver"....clueless and dangerous.
