Mechanical grip, tires, and weight is what's keeping this car on the road; no wings or ground effects. Driving skills to the max with handling this car.

Brilliant, thank you. Great memories of the Big Bore A, B production, A, B sports racer, A Sedan SCCA Nationals back in the day. So lucky to have seen it.

Wow, the moment at 2.40 minutes, just a near perfect neutral slide with a dab of power oversteer, fantastic! The car is surprising neutral and light to the touch.

I agree!

I love all those who say he's not pushing it. He's sideways in a corner or two and he's running over 170 on bias ply tires. That guy is driving that car and doing a good job with it. This is proof you don't need rev match on new cars, you do it yourself.
@dergrammarfuhrer19017 жыл бұрын
Yeah it also has 700hp, I'd love to see these critics try it for themselves, but that would just be a waste of a beautiful car lol.
@dickeyseamus7 жыл бұрын
Are they really using bias ply tires?!

It's all about driving for the fun of it. You don't need to ring the piss out of it to get a smile on your face. Just hearing that motor scream would make me grin ear to ear. The throttle wacking on the down shift is sexy as hell.

The mechanical music of the 427.......speachless. Too much fun.

I like how he put some front brake in the car after going into the first 2 turns of lap 3. definitely see some oversteer in the wheel on heavy braking. Good job on those tires,definitely finesse there. Motor sounded great.

I was at this event in a newly completed A Production car. It was a blue 1969 Corvette with a 350 (running a rev limit for first miles). It was running all 70's era tech, per the rules. This car looks like a monster by comparison, making probably double the power but...I had a great time none the less. I have a video of my Corvette and the Corvette dedication if you click under my user name and look at the videos. That was a great weekend and re-dedication of the Corvette bridge. This car in this vid is a monster though...I remember watching it.

wow indeed so many people clearly dont drive hard in real life judging and pointing their finger yet they dont understand the weight of the car, the power, and the tires made to take a lot of heat and last a long time how slick they are and how much talent is actually needed to drive a car like this hard consistantly. i said it to a youngin just before he almost crashed my 87 rolla :this aint xbox: he knew exactly how it was after he thought he was better than driving

This guy is blasting around this track damn fast. A very good run and the car sounds great and so is it's performance. This driver knows what he has and how to use it correctly. This car on a 2-3 mile straight would hit 200m.p.h. maybe drop the rear ratio to 3:36:1 to get that speed.

Could you imagine this car with upgrade shocks wheels & tires ... OMG Lemma at it .. The L88 when it's making RPM like's to wanna pull you out by your ball's It just has so much grunt but lacks the tire technology to really shine ...
@danpblogger2 жыл бұрын
Engine must me stroked to get a 427 to wrap the rpm's that fast. Interested what kind of trans too.

At first I was thinking he was a little slow getting into it coming out of the turns, but now knowing he was using vintage tires it's best not to overheat them by spinning unnecessarily. Once they get hot they start to get greasy and spinning out is easy.

Would say Brent has some " grande culhones". 700 hp in a car with really bad bias ply tires? What a sound though. Even the great 2017 Z1 camaro with 620 HP does not sound like this.This is how I remember the 427 1967 Vette sound.Could bring down a small building.

dam should of kept on it you had that mustang you owned him on the next corner any ways, are you running a dry sump system ? if no id get one, make way more hp and guarenteed oil never fail due to oil sloshing around crank never hits the oil that robs power when it does,..... love big block chevys ,.... but you what would be kool is dump in a new lsx454 crate motor with dry sump 770 hp and its a small block gm high perf parts crate motor thats the ticket 6 bolt mains get serious power nelson racing twin turbos way bad ass 2500 hp
@468bbccapri9 жыл бұрын
Everybody's a critic. I wonder what Jim Henson has done that's so great. A classic big block Corvette, I don't blame the guy for not driving balls out imo it's not worth the risk. Common sense it's not so common these days. The man in the Corvette qualified at #2.
