Hi Wildlife and Birds UK 👋😊 !! Thanks for this most excellent sequence of shots, showing the development, and fast progress made by these fine little birds, prior to migration. I specially liked the shots against the water reflection, featuring both the insects and the birds in action 👍. Best wishes for 2023 🎉. Cheers, Don 🙋‍♂️ !!

Hi Don, I hope you and your family are well and enjoying life, my friend. It is always a pleasure to read your sincere comments and I appreciate your constant support. I find it amazing that just a few months after hatching, these guys fly 6,000 miles after probably only flying under 100 miles in their young lives up to that point! I wish you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year, my dear friend, and thank you as always. 👍◕‿◕

Those three little stoogers. It is impossible to keep the smile off my face🤗 We have swallows nesting on the verandah beams of our house and they get pretty cheeky when they have little ones. They try to terrorise us and we pretend to be scared😁Just a fun fact. I read somewhere that a breeding pair eats about 3000 mozzies per day😋 Best wishes for 2023👍

Hello dear Jane, I know that I still have to watch many other of Your videos, I am so behind, but I had the right two minutes to watch Your new upload so I clicked without hesitation! I am surprised to see wooden telegraph poles. They are disappeared here, I think it is because of the harsh Japanese weather (humidity that is extremely high or extremely low, typhoons in summer and strong dry winds in winter...) that ruins wood if it is not repainted very often. Gosh, I did not comment on the lovely Swallows!!!! Very interesting theme indeed, and the three chicks in the first clips made me laugh for their super cute movements!!! I wish You a great end of the year, knowing the works at Your house, the "great" means enough warm and comfortable, healthy, and with some nice surprise both for You, Your family, and the Wildlife waiting for You! Warm hugs from my family!

Hello Andrea, I'm glad to have made this public when you had a couple of minutes to spare, before getting busy again. I like to start my mornings just by answering posts and emails for a while before I get on with seemingly endless jobs to do, and of course, some of the work I can do here at my home. It is slow progress, but progress never-the-less. It is VERY cold too, with floorboards up and no carpets or heating in the room we have started on. Some of the ceiling is down too and the cold draft from the underfloor air bricks we have had fitted, makes me shiver at night. I've never actually thought about your weather-destroying wood in a relatively quick time before. I hope it is not over-harvested, making it tough for the Birds, who use it for nesting on or in! And all the tiny Insects, and even mushrooms who make it their home. The three chicks all together were just so funny and super cute to watch being fed, and their little heads turning to follow the flight of the adults as they caught flying insects around them. I'm sure they are learning from it too. Well, it will soon be New Year and I wish you and your family to have a Happy and Prosperous New Year, my dear friends and thank you as always for your never-ending support and sincere comments, and kind words. Bring on 2023 and here's to happy times ahead! *Big Hugs* 👍◕‿◕

Hi Manu, yes, they do nest like this and over here in the UK it is the House Martins which choose to nest under the eaves of our homes and the Swallows are more likely to nest in the same way but inside barns, sheds and stables etc. Both birds are very similar and both active and seemingly happy. @@WildlifeBirdsUK thank you my friend. I am having a hard time keeping up on YT. I feel bad that I’ve missed many of your videos. All we can do is live each day to the fullest even with what we both have going on. I refuse to let Cancer keep me from doing what I love. Some days I’m slower but that’s ok. At least I’m out and about. I had a third Lumbar medial pain block couple weeks ago. Didn’t go so well. I see my Boston specialist this month. My local team asked me to ask him from a couple month Chemo break. I’m having extreme fatigue and brain fog:chemo brain. I pray he lets me have a little break. I’ve been at this 4 years and 4 months. It’s a lot my friend. The side effects are tough. I know when people look at me riding my bike and hiking etc they say you don’t look like you have cancer. To be honest that’s not a nice thing to say,, what does cancer look like? Of course you and I know what it looks like. I think they mean well thou. They say oh you still have hair. Oh my,,, they should come to my cancer center with me monthly for treatment,, they will see there are more patients with hair that without. Different treatments effect different parts of your body. I’ve had the nastiest comments on YT. I’ll write you private tomorrow as I don’t want to share it in public. Always thinking of you. I need to look at my YT list and focus on the ones like you who take the time to watch and comment. I’m spending way to much time on YT. I need to cut back. Sending hugs and love. Thanks for always being so kind to me. Your a great man.

@@NaturesFairy Hi Brenda, you cannot have missed too many videos surely, as I am only making one public every 4 weeks. It has proved to be a good decision (for me) as I have been desperate for extra time needed for other things that on reflection are way more important. Also, the family have needed to rally around and be there for each other after my brother's sad passing. OMG, when it comes to cancer and the way others 'understand' it (not) ... they simply don't realise the difficulties both physically AND mentally not only for the poor beggars suffering this god-awful disease but for their immediate families too. It is amazing how one day things can seem ok, even good... but then the next day it can be flipped over and can be painful and very bad! It is annoying when people say 'hey, you look so well, it's nice to see you so much better' (yeah right) I know it sounds horrid, but I would pay to be able to shift all my painful sleepless shit onto one or two others, just for a day or two so that they then understood what it is like. Plus it would be so amazing to just have a little sleep and a day without pain! It's hard to understand why and how people can be so cruel as to leave hurtful comments on social media as if they know what it is like to be in your shoes... and you know you should be able to simply dismiss such comments but it cannot be that easy and must make you angry as hell too! On YT you do soon realise who is and isn't sincere and just when I stop commenting on every public video that friends add (they may do 2 or 3 a week or even more) ... they just disappear, which is disappointing but proves I WAS wasting valuable time. You take very good care of yourselves and each other, because nobody else will and they may not even notice if and when you post a little less often. The most important things in this life are your health and your family and other things should perhaps give way to allow more time but there is only one person who can decide what is the best action to take and that is you! *BIG Hugs and lots of love for you Both* 💗👍◕‿◕

Hi Bernie, thank you for your constant support, my friend. It is difficult to capture decent video of Swallows in flight, as they are so fast and change directions in a fraction of a second. In most places, if you sit there for a while, maybe reading a book or similar, the birds will almost always appear around you, especially in winter when they are hungry. It can be very therapeutic, even to someone who isn't usually that interested, but then they often get the bug and get into it. After all, Nature, Wildlife & Birds are *The Greatest Free Show on Earth* (in my opinion). 👍◕‿◕

@@theotheseaeagle That's a great idea Theo and maybe i could look into similar with Swift boxes as we used to have swifts nesting under the eaves and perhaps even into the roof slate / attic area, but we had double glazing and new gutters etc several years back and the way they got in was blocked without me even thinking about it, and only realised late the following season when I watched one fly under and straigth back out again... I was gutted and still am. We have a bird rescue here at home and are seeing many flerdglings brought in with people saying they are not seeing them being fed once fledged etc... never bought so many kilos of mealworms! Approx £40-50/week in those alone! 👀
