God is simply your highest ideal .. The best and most loving version of yourself ... Imagine if you had infinite power ... what/who would you be? To truly answer that ..you have to know yourself first. And thus begins your spiritual journey .. use God as a working Hypothesis if you will ...a conjecture that YOU set out to prove to Yourself.. and Since God is your best version .. you should have 24x7 access effortlessly.. and you do. The world is a laboratory and you are the grandest experiment there is ... so go on find out who you are If you think you know yourself without an iota of doubt...then you are done. You are either the biggest fool or the wisest sage. Neither has any questions they seek answers for. But , if you are like the rest of us, then there is a good chance you don't know who you truly are. Hinduism posits that as you define yourselves and your relationship to God , you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and God through spiritual practice... and iteratitively there will be a convergence ... where you begin by identifying with God and end by dissolving into God when your identity is completely lost. Make sense as you gain a deeper understanding of yourselves ..you will have a better understanding of your higher self ...till such time there is only one Self. No guy in sky , or after death gobbledygook to worry about. Just worry about the here and now ..till you figure there wasn't anything to worry about in the first place. That is when doubts about God end and your spiritual journey REALLY begins ... Fortunate are those who believe in God like the ground they stand on. Kabir , Brother Lawrence, Rumi, Hafiz , Swami Vivekananda are among those ...If they could do it - so can I.

But God is not something that can be intellectualized -- The best ANY Religion can do is say not what GOD IS but rather what God is NOT and hope that the mind can make a breakthrough. So trying to read scriptures for 'Understanding' and not salvation - is the silliest thing I have ever heard. You are are better off learning accounting or crypto mining or whatever. For those truly seeking God - it is a life defining pursuit that others will not understand - nor do we wish to make them understand .. It is a beautiful solitary journey. We dont seek the DESTINATION- we seek the JOURNEY. Its something you will never understand. Ramakrishna Misson helps those like me who are sincere seekers .They are open to ALL religious faiths/Paths and do their best. So while Iam not a monk - I will defend them with all I have.
