It's part of the ballet. In Swan lake the story is that the prince goes out hunting one day before his birthday, and when the sun sets, he finds a swan who changes into the swan queen, Odette. As the pair fall in love, he meets the evil sorcerer, Rothbart, the main villain of the ballet who was responsible for cursing Odette into transforming into a swan by day. However, true love can break the curse, but if the true love were to fall for another, then Odette would remain a swan forever. Odile is Rothbart's daughter who is often known as the black swan, and Rothbart uses a spell so the prince will think that she's Odette. As a result, the prince is tricked and ask's for Odile's hand in marriage and not Odette's, this results in the curse becoming permanent until she and the prince kill themselves. But in other versions Rothbart is defeated and there is a happier ending.

I loved ballet, I trained so hard when i was younger, unfortunately my teacher stopped me from ever getting to high levels due to the colour of my skin. I used to watch the older girls dance in their tutus and be so mesmerised and excited to one day be part of the group, however at such a young age I didn't realise how cruel some teachers would be. Maybe in another life, for now I'll enjoy the music and the beauty of the dance
