See if Swans are Touring (2023 World Tour) near you, this late Summer, Early Fall. See Them. I started seeing Them live in 2012. It was Life Changing. WEAR EARPLUGS ! - Bon Voyage !

There's no live music experience like Swans. As much as I love their records, Swans are first and foremost a live band. Intense, overwhelming, louder than anything, hypnotic. If they're ever playing live anywhere near you, make sure you go. You'll be very glad you did.

100%. It's a must watch band where the studio albums are just a teaser for the ultimate expression of their sound, which is the live experience. Same as bands like Sunn O))), Earth, Boris, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, etc - the live experience is just another beast altogether.

Absolutely great reaction! If you weren't already planning to, please check out their 2016 album The Glowing Man. I think it's a completely life changing transcendental record, and the title track is almost definitely one of, if not the greatest song ever made.

By way great vid loved how you analysed the songs and the themes in the album Swans are one of my favorite bands and I just love to fall into their songs and experience them but I do have to admit its not for everyone so I'm really happy you enjoyed it hope you do more of their's like The Seer(this one being the most terrefying of their albums in my opinion) or The Glowing Man next. Keep up the good content.

Whenever I do acid and I want a very 'shamanistic' experience, my go-to band is Swans, specially this album, but really more so The Glowing Man (their best work, in my opinion) and the live album Deliquescence. Groovy, hypnotic, trance-inducing. Going hard, 4 tabs, turning off all the lights and listening to Swans is a religious experience.

I feel like being outside for the first disk and moving inside for the second perfectly matches the way I feel about the two halves of this album, and how they just feel different for some reason.

no one does Swans reviews! imo, second best swans album behind Soundtracks There is a live album called Not Here Not Now that contains superior versions of To Be Kind and Just a Little Boy (a much much harder version). I hate that this version that didn't make the album.

It’s funny that you mentioned inhaler users for oxygen. In an interview Michael Gira said the song was inspired by an asthma attack that was so severe it sent him to the hospital

Listen to spears into hooks by meira asher hardest album ever! (For me) Also some diamanda galas would be nice too i hear a lot of vocal influences in gira's performance in this album which are similar to her style

I recommend you Review their latest Album, The Beggar. It's very Accessible, and its extremely Beautiful. It's also my favorite Swans Album.

@@solartea_ for me, yes. I got hooked on them, around 2010, via an Occult Writer and Editor Friend of mine. (He started seeing them live in the late 80's. I started listening, Religiously, all the way back to their, White Light from the Mouth of Infinity Album). He took me to see them. I was pretty much ill-prepared, with,..."surrendering" to 'The Tumult' that was to play upon my Senses. I am right now, as I write this, listening to The Beggar Album. And of course, "Medicines" differ upon us. All I know, for me, here is another Dose of Mana.
