And Marlon James, Jamaican author is writing a fantasy novel that is taking place in precolonial West Africa that will be full of fantasy and mythology and he said might end up being triology. He included Anansi the spider but completely revamped him and other creatures. So there are many authors from across the diaspora writing stories in science-fiction, fantasy, horror etc They just have not all reached mainstream but once they do especially now is the time for them to work with TV show runners and get their books made into TV shows.

Here's a story that would be categorized as African Horror that was published in the New York Times.
