Man I feel like Chad was really thinking of his own battle with cancer when he had to step out of the room...hope people realize that we didn’t know even a fraction of how much courage and strength this guy had. RIP Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda forever 🙅🏿‍♂️

not to sound mean but marvel knew that if they fucked this up in any way it would not be pretty at all. just look back and not an old film of their at all, doctor strange. where everyone iswhitewashed. and just the amount of whitewashed characters they have. scarlet witch, pietro, steven strange, the master in dr strange, the bald woman. to only name a few. black panther turned out like this purely cause the director was black and is who he is and he knew his shit and knew what to do. also bc if marvel made any mistakes here the backlash would have been massive. yea good job marvel here but they don't really deserve all that respect. this is one hit out of all misses.

No, he was referring to 2 children who were terminally ill. He was in communication with them through the entire process of shooting the movie and they both said that they were going to hold on just to watch the movie because they were so proud of him and what the movie represented for black people. Sadly, they both passed before it was finished.

I really feel the Lord wants the Black community to read it. That includes the world black community.

As Chadwick Boseman gets emotional about 2 boys with terminal cancer - it is so poignant today as he himself succumbed to cancer - he will always shine on as a hero - not just as an actor but because he actually was a HERO in real life. RIP Chadwick - thank you for the gift of your talent.

I'm watching it tonight and I'll watch it again with a friend. Man it's about time we see an advanced version of ourselves. Yeah it's one thing to have a majority black cast but even better is how it's also a SciFi film. Growing up on the Outer Limits, Xfiles, Twilight zone, Tales from The Hood I always loved Sci fi and Thought provoking shows and films so I've been waiting for a film to bring it all together. Let's keep it real black folks support a lot of bullshit that keeps stereotypes alive. We complain about racism and stereotypes then go watch the shows that embrace those stereotypes. We have to embrace excellence and creativity and reject ignorant dumbass negative behavior. From Get Out to Black Panther let's keep it going. Don't stop there.

Nnedia Okorafor (Nigerian-American) fantasy author, her novels are being made HBO tv show. Her novels are full of Nigerian cultures, especially Igbo but also features other African cultures and mix her love of science with fantasy and folklore and take place on the continent. N.K. Jemesin, african american scifi author's novel is also being made into a tv show for TNT. She also writes amazing stories with more hard science fiction elements and is great at world building. Next, the Jamaican fantasy/speculative ficition author Nalo Hopkinson' her novel brown in Row has been made into a film and was a few film festivals. And Marlon James, Jamaican author is writing a fantasy novel that is taking place in precolonial West Africa that will be full of fantasy and mythology and he said might end up being triology. He included Anansi the spider but completely revamped him and other creatures. So there are many authors from across the diaspora writing stories in science-fiction, fantasy, horror etc They just have not all reached mainstream but once they do especially now is the time for them to work with TV show runners and get their books made into TV shows.

Here's a story that would be categorized as African Horror that was published in the New York Times. It's about dolls/babies and how pressure is put on women to have children/the desire to have a baby.... but with fantasy/horror twist. www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/10/26/who-will-greet-you-at-home It's written by a Nigerian author, and was mentioned at the Ake Book Festival, they have there where the moderator discussed how horror, scifi and fantasy is being written on the continent. You can watch the talk here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pb52gcuarN2mZnk.html. And Nnedi Okorafor was there you can see her talk here, so glad her work is being made into a TV series. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ocByabZ1r8qWn2w.html
