Hey boo! I hope this video helps you get a MATTE look this summer! Now, lemme say - make sure you blot he Urban Decay spray, don't let it dry without doing so. If you don't blot it in, the white spots will remain on your face and you won't be able to get it off! I'm also going to make sure that I spray my face BEFORE applying lashes, to avoid the product sitting on my lashes. The spray works wonders, we just gotta make sure that we are using it the right way, ok?!

Dr Mena …. You did the damn thang babbbbeeee!!!!! I love watching when you pull it all together. I learn so much from you. The look came out fire 🔥 and I am here for it. What I learned when the foundation is to dark and neutral you go warm with your concealer and other products. That blush is so pretty, it definitely brought some warmth to the skin. The eyeshadow is the freaking bomb. Love love love it. 🥰🥰

Your skin is radiantly gorgeous! I will definitely give this skincare regimen a shot! Also, is there a particular SPF moisturizer you use that does not leave a white cast on your face? I know all spf has them however I think that there are some that leave more of it than others.

I was just smiling while u were saying all that “oh I look flat” “oh I’m not too sure about this or that” coz I’m like she gonna make it work I know it!! That lippie is mind blowing! Quick question I noticed any retinol products dries my skin up, I thought the under eye was supposed to be prepped with moisture? Now I’m confused not see what to do coz I resenntly started using a dab of hyalaraunic acid under the eyes of my older clients or those with puffy under eyes…am I wrong? Help! 😁

Thanks!!! It did turn around in the end! Ok so the retinol eye patches are formulated to be gentle around the eyes. A retinol product that is for the face, not eyes, but face; will be too strong for the eye. Avoid the eye with that product. Yes - always keep the eyes hydrated, so with these, I jumped right into makeup and didn’t need an eye cream. They were wicked wet/hydrating.

Always beautiful!! I tried my summer matte routine (I commented about my anniversary dinner) and it was great! Stayed all day and was natural dewy my the end of the day which I did not mind at all!! I use the Make Up For Ever HD skin foundation. It did look a little red undertone(it says neutral) any suggestions or should I go try to find a different shade? 💛💛

Yay! So glad it helped! Mmm, you can balance it out with a warmer toned foundation or a straight up color changing product (it will be yellow pigment). Or exchange it! Hate when that happens, so I get it

I have the same foundation in the same shade and it’s my least favorite. I’m not a fan of the Fenty foundations or concealers. The rest of the products are great.

I ❤️ the final look, and you're so beautiful, knowledgeable, and talented. However, the way you kept saying the foundation was TOO DARK (to me) comes off as dark foundations are associated with negativity. I actually think it matches you better than the ones that you typically use. I know that you corrected yourself at the end, but the constant "it's too dark" commentary didn't sit well with me at all. I'm just concerned with the beautiful dark women and girls who watch your videos and hear you repeatedly say it's "too dark". I know you're Ghanaian and know the subtle aspects of colorism. It just really came off as "I don't want to be THIS dark" when in actuality, YOU (neck) ARE that dark (which is beautiful 😍). Please don't take this feedback the wrong way, but as a way to be reflective because you have a platform that impacts so many others. 🥰

Hey! thanks for the comment. In all actuality, I literally. look forward to the summer to that I can enjoy being much darker than I am in the winter (I've mentioned this several times). Hence why I save the foundation shades that are "too dark for me" for the summer, when I am actually much darker. I'm surprised that it seemed, in the video, that I was "anti-dark skin" when I am considered to be dark skinned. Not only that, I love the shade of my skin and all of the shades on the dark/deep dark spectrum. What I was referring to was the fact that this shade, since it was the only one that was deep enough to fit me w/the correct undertone for me, was too dark for me. I'm not sure if you've seen any of my other videos (Maybelline Skin Tint and many others), but I've tried out several foundations where the shades are darker than my face, match my chest, but aren't the shade that I prefer to wear. I do the look and I make it all work together in the end. Certainly didn't take offense to your comment, but do want to explain to avoid any confusion.

@@MENA_ADUBEA Okay, sis! It's sorta sounding like "I date black ppl, I can't be racist" vibes. I've actually watched A LOT of your videos and will continue to do so bc I dont think you have malice. I'll just cringe when you do the "It's too dark commentary" with the crossed eyes look. 🤷🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️
