I really love your videos, they're so interesting and lovely to watch. I wanted to ask what kind of mixer is that, I've never seen one like it before?

Thank you for the kind words! 🤗 It's called a Bosch Universal Plus Mixer. It's bigger and has a more powerful motor than a KitchenAid.

thank you for the recipe. I've seen a few other recipe using all purposes flour instead of bread flour. Which one is the original?

Bread flour is simply flour with a higher protein (gluten) content. It's made from hard red wheat, which started being used in Europe in the 1800s. This was also the same time that Lucia buns were invented. The tradition comes from 19th century Sweden. So I imagine either all-purpose or bread flour could have been used in those first recipes. It's hard to know definitively, but either are possible!

Thank you! I've tried bread flour before and just tried with AP flour. AP gives a better ligher texture while bread flour makes it too much bread-like texture. They're both good but ap is by far my favorite for this one. @@BakeAcrossEurope

Wow, that's a lot of saffron 😊
@BakeAcrossEurope3 жыл бұрын
Haha yes it is. The original recipe called for 1 gram of saffron. I accidentally added 2 grams but found that it didn't negatively affect the flavor but rather gave a really nice flavor and beautiful color so I ended up sticking with my mistake. 😂

@@BakeAcrossEurope I´m sure, it tastes gorgeous. If only it woudn´t be so expensive. But good to know, that 1 gram is enough. Have a great christmas season

can i substitute the vodka to dissolve the saffron in? i dont have it
@BakeAcrossEurope2 жыл бұрын
Do you have any other type of alcohol? It needs to have a neutral flavor to allow the saffron flavor be the main flavor. You could also let it soak in the milk overnight (warm the milk, add the saffron to let it steep, once it reaches room temperature store in the fridge overnight).
