He is a black man, creating a game with black characters, set in his tribal homeland. All so some clown on KZfaq can accuse him of “forcing diversity” into his game. Because this is racism. I think it's forced diversity at the expense of a good story. Or when the story revolves around the diversity or identity of the characters for the sake of it. For example, a story that just focuses on a black female Jedi and doesn't add anything else to the story aside from the Jedi being a black female is thus a bad story. But they could make a good story that just happens to have a black female Jedi. So it's not so much the diversity but how it's being used to create a very poor and often politically charged message at the expense of a good story, good writing, and interesting characters. Often times they run into trouble with swapping the identity of an established character for no reasons other than diversity. That might be the only case where forced diversity could be a problem. But you could generally have a good story with forced diversity, but that is not how the woke formula usually functions.

He's no outsider in the film industry. He came up in the British theater culture like so many other actors. He had two leading roles in TV series in the past five years. And he's getting a sweet action role in House of the Dragon that he can support himself with at Comicons for the rest of his life. However, he's positioned himself as an 'outsider' in the gaming sphere by starting an indie company and putting out a product that few people are interested in. He imagines a market for his game that simply doesn't exist, and when people don't respond, he falls back on the usual NPC talking points. If he created a game that a vast number of people actually wanted to play (in the same way that a vast number of people want to watch House of Dragons) he wouldn't have this problem. Indie games with niche audiences (which is what ZAU is) can't be scaled for micro-profit the way indie comics or indie records can, because all the game platforms are huge corporations. It's unfortunate that a small fanbase can't sustain you in gaming, but that's just how that industry operates.

And for the record, ZAU doesn't have all the work stuff in there, it does have a good story in there about a man facing his own grief. The issue is the association of DEI agenda consulting firms, and the fact that his game isn't getting many sales due to Playstation Plus and GamePass making his game less than the original pricing of his game to the point that it's free, which is how gamers who have subcriptions to PS Plus and GamePass are getting it. It's now made worse by the fact that he was too open about what he thought in his message and was unable to understand the real problem why people are against political agenda in gaming. But he is an actor and outside of his experience with gaming on his free time, he wanted to share his game with the world, proud of his African culture at a time where BlackRock, Sweet Baby Inc and all these DEI agenda pushing companies has made the video game industry less interesting to the point that anyone being too open about their culture is going to be assumed to be another DEI agenda woke crud that has no fun in it.
