So great of you to help amateurs like me, who would otherwise be spending time I don't have, to break down this song and enjoy playing. Many thanks

Thanks Dale for the time & effort you put into these tutorials. That "knucklebuster" part was the hardest section for me to get right. Anyway just takes time & patience and it all comes together.

So if you google Ed King you get to Strawberry Alarm Clock and a few clicks later down the bunny trail you end up at Oingo Boingo...just say'n.. the 70's were weird. Anyways, another great tutorial. I always learn something from you, and your humbleness is inspiring. Thanks Dale!
@tonedr6 жыл бұрын
i knew SAC but on Oingo Boingo - wow! this is the one that pays the bills isn't it - i mean that intro is more than iconic if that's even possible!

I studied this tune many hours...when they didn't have software to slow things down. Took me a long time to get it down but I play it almost identical to your way. I've watched a ton of bands play this wrong....sometimes still sounding good but wrong. But you can't play this tune with less than 2 guitars. Just too much going on with 3 guitars for one to cover it well. Plus I hear some slide guitar in there too. At least some sliding notes. The accents make the tune if you ask me. Most people never hear the small parts in the background but they do contribute to the total tune. Thanks again Dale....You put an awful lot of effort into the tunes and the tutorials......much appreciated

great post - i totally agree, a very sophisticated song to play like the boys from Gainesville did! wow what a band - i hope all is good sir and one day let's pick this one together!

by the way Dale......you look as "guitarded" as I am......took some serious begging (took lessons from the family pooch) to get the warden to let me buy some of my axes.....hehe Started out with an Epiphone Les Paul.....now have 24 guitars....LOVE my PRS! And all but 3 of my guitars are black....can't help myself! hehe

Another fantastic lesson, Mr. Adams. BTW, you seem to have as many guitars as Al Pitrelli. Al is the Trans Siberian Orchestra and Savatage guitarist extraordinaire. So are you.

Holy cow Dale, seems like there are more guitar cases than the last time that I watched one of your tutorials. Which is your favorite one? Don't know a thing about playing the guitar, but you are fun to watch. Gotta go watch Call Me the Breeze and then off to sleep. Crazy late once again. Lose track of time when I watch you guys.
@tonedr6 жыл бұрын
please know i greatly appreciate you checking out the vids and sharing music! I do have a few cases:) they tend to come and go - my fave these days is a Mike Reeder model Les Paul. Hope all is good your way, dale.

Great lesson, great playing and nice tone. If I can ask; What year & model is your Strat? Is it Olympics White or special paint as it looks really white. So many I see are more yellow and I'm looking for one that is whiter...like yours. Also with a dark rosewood fretboard...thanks.
@tonedr Жыл бұрын
I bought it used in Nashville, I really don't know what year, prob early 2000's, it is the original color, I'm like you I like white to be pretty white. I changed all electronics and pups and never looked back..I not a Strat guy and this is the only one I've ever wanted. It does have a very dark board, like yourself I like them too!

THanks for the great tutorial. As I am not familiar with strats, are you playing the bridge position pick-up in the coil splitting mode?
@tonedr6 жыл бұрын
thanks for checking this out! I'm in the 2nd position ( i call it ) the bridge and middle pup combined.

Hello Tonedr,very good,thank you!! Excuse me,I would like to know which guitar is that you are playing ??? Thank!

greatly appreciate you checking this out! It's an American made Strat - that's reallly all i know about it - i pur Lindy Fralin pickups in it.
@tweedguitar91036 жыл бұрын
Dale in regard to the intro, would you say you have very slight right hand palm muting ?, or do you "do it" just with the left hand touch ? I've always wanted to learn this one properly. cheers your mate tg...This may sound weird, but i'd love to know what pickups you have , i know they are lindy fralin but which ones ? I've gotta get beck into the strat, I've avoided the stat for a long while, preferring the tele. Only the strat can do this exact 2nd position quack sound. cheers
@tonedr6 жыл бұрын
i do a good bit of it with the left hand lifting off - but i think a palm mute may work a bit better - great question! It has the LF Blues Specials - if i remember right i had him overwind the bridge pup so it was a bit darker/warmer than typical. It has all RS Guitarworks pots and harness in it. your friend, dale.

Saw the white Strat and had to click right away. Honestly I never learned this song, well I can play section of the intro but most people just look and say no.

Hey Dale!!! Great Guitar Playing!!! Here is a question you probably have never been asked..of all the Cover Band Songs you've played ....Which Band Would you ever dreamed you could have been A Member Of and Touring with ??? And Why ??? No fair Lexington Lab . Doesn't Count...for me The Beatles Music has always been too complex to play..The Stones on the Other hand so much easier Would like to Hear From... Thank You !!! Wishing you and Yours a Very Happy New Year And many many more years of playing!!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎵🎵✌✌✌🎵🎵🎵

hello Arun...thanks for your very kind post and question! Bad Company would be up there for me because I LOVE the voice of Paul Rodgers. Boston and Foreigner top for me too Happy New Year, your friend, dale.

@@tonedr Very good afternoon to you Dale !! I thought Bad Company would had been one your favorite groups to have been part of. I could not Agree more Paul Roger's incredible Voice puts that group at the very top.I believe we all started playing at least for my part the evening I first saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show..just fell in love with his Jet Glo Rickenbacker but I've settled for my Blonde Telecaster..Moving on is probably my most favorite to coverI never get tired of Playing it..Rock on and thank you for the great lessons you have a great Ear !!!
