These little library check-out cards and due date slips from back in the day were really fun elements for a gift notebook. Join me as I reminisce and chat about libraries and such.

What a special gift for the librarian and assistant, Anne! They will love them! Libraries are magical places. The little public library that I went to as a kid is now our community theatre. It’s a wonderful old stone building. We now have a big huge new library building. Thanks for reminding of those cozy days among the shelves of books reading and traveling to places and times far away! ❤

I practically lived in the library as a kid, and then became a Library Assistant for 15 years as a grown up. I got my love of books from my mom. She took my brother and I to the library all the time, and sometimes, when she left me for the day, the Librarian had to tell me they were closing to wrap up my adventurous day in a book. I LoVe libraries, books, cards, due dates, and all the goodies in a library. Always will. Thanks so much for doing this video. My heart is full!❤

And MY heart is full just reading your precious memory. We were similar young readers, closing down the place at the end of the day. Glad this sweet ephemera inspired some dear memories for you as well. Thanks so much for watching!

I started going to the public library on my bike, the summer before fourth grade and still go now, over 65 years later! We grew up south of Portland and have many good Oregon memories. Your little book turned out very cute and I will enjoy whatever ideas and projects you choose to share.

What a genius project! Libraries school and public library at the city hall were the main places I used to go on my vacations. I love reading since I was a child. So, this project touched my heart. TFS, Anne!🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

You put a smile on my face with the memories of going to school or local library. I always liked to see how many people and names showed up on the book I wanted to read too. Love the idea of using the tissue paper to protect the cards. Also love the stamp to make your own word or words. Thank you again for another wonderful video. Blessings 🤗🌹

What a sweet memory, Sandra. Yes, bookmobiles perform a great service to city neighborhoods and rural areas alike. Any way to get books into the hands of youngsters! Thanks so much for walking down memory lane with me.

Omgosh Anne I have been looking for these high and low!! I've gone to my library and often to see if they have any and they never 😢. I'm sure there's a digi kit out there somewhere, it's just nice to have the originals you know. Your so fortunate to have gotten your hands on them!!. I mean nothing against digi kits it's just well they look like digi kits. I love your idea as to what your doing w them very endearing ❤❤❤

I agree with you, Shawn - nothing wrong with digitals but they do look like kits. I was indeed lucky to be volunteering at a school library that just happened to be culling its old stock. If you would like to email me at annekenlon@gmail.com, I may have an idea....😉

Oh Anne, I had so many good memories when you showed those cards. I almost lived in the public library when I was a child. ☺️📚 the last couple of months I have been reading Haruki Murakami. Now it’s the last one he has written. The first real book I wrote was John Steinbeck, east of Eden( direct translation so I don’t know if it’s the real name )

Hello, and thank you so very much for sharing your love of reading. Yes, "East of Eden" is indeed one of the fine works of John Steinbeck. His "Grapes of Wrath" is one of my all-time favorites. Many thanks for your thoughts!
