Brian Conolly - The ONLY rocker who could pull off yellow slacks and shirt with a vest sweater and still look cool. The 70's were the best. So glad I was a teen back then.

Sweet was a great band who deserves much, much more accolades then they get. You couldn't find a better drummer than Mick Tucker , plus all four had lead voice qualities. Just a great band . One of my favorites as a youth , and they still are.

9/9/2023. My parents educated me about glam rock. They've always said that Sweet was one of the greatest bands of the 70's that nobody talks about. I love glam rock!

We play Sweet at all family events. Everyone gets up to dance to Little Willy and Ballroom Blitz, my 87 mom leads us all on the dance floor. Our brother Roger just passed a few weeks ago and we all danced to Sweet in the parking lot at the funeral luncheon. He always kept us rockin....Love and miss you Rog!!!

This song came out when I was about 10, just love it. I found it here on KZfaq about 2 months ago and decided to play it for my 2 grandkids who are 3 and 1. They loved it! We dance around the house and they’ll say, “Play it again, Grammy”! Such great memories!😃

What a great band they are, the vocals, the band, music the songs.

Even though they had some success , this band was definitely underrated and somewhat ahead of their time . All the hair bands of the eighties and Def Leppard and Motley Crue owe these guys something if not a mention. I mean Sweet laid the groundwork for them.

Still remember listing to this on me mum's old transistor radio.. Great days, and fond memories.

4th grade Gilmore elementary school in Pittsburgh. We had the coolest teacher - Mrs Mervis . So, this was 1974 - she had Long brown hair and looked like a model. She loved rock music and would let us bring in albums of our fav music to play while we did our school work. This song was on a K-Tel compilation album one of my class mates brought in. Mrs. Mervis was so cool. She had a contest to see if anyone could guess her favorite band.. I won … it was The Rolling Stones, her favorite song Angie… She brought the album in and played it for us. What a great time to be a kid in school. We also were aloud to bring a radio and listen to it while we did our school work,,,,, Thanks to all those great teachers at Gilmore school and to Mrs. Donna Mervis.

I discovered them in 1978, I never stop listen them since then. They deserved to be more and more famous at the time… sweet fa is my fav vinyl’s :-)

The transformation in just a few short years from Little Willy to Turn It Down is nothing short of spectacular.

Born in '68, youngest of 7...Have slowly come to re-enjoy Sweet in the modern era, but grew up on the 45s of Little Willie and Fox on the Run. Underrated band, oh absolutely. ;)

I saw Sweet in concert back on June 4, 1978 in Providence, Rhode Island when I was 16 years old! Sweet was one band in a line up of 6 rock bands to perform on that day! Ticket price for the general admision show was $20.00 for a 12 hour show that also included the rock bands Foghat, Foreigner, Nazareth, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, and Rainbow (Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow)! Simply spectacular show, and the 1970s was an simply great time to be a teenaged rock and roll music fan! And as for Sweet, they were totally Sweet!

Just knew from my son that Steve Priest just passed away ...RIP...you are the best bassist in galaxy and the Sweet was the best glam rock in rock planet ,now the 3 men gonna meet and join together again in heaven..Brian ...Mick...and Steve RIP ...Hat off to you all in good memories you gave good Rock and Roll.

This was the first Sweet song I heard, when I was about 9. It was their first big hit here in the US. They played it a lot at the skating rink. Now my 28 year old daughter loves it and thinks it's hilarious. It's a very addictive song!😎

The lemon yellow shirt and pants with a sweater vest is a bold move. It's so ridiculously great. I remember hearing this song when I was a kid and it was new, playing over the speakers in shopping malls. God, I'm old. "The Night Chicago Died" by Paper Lace was another one around the same time that was pervasive. I always kind of lump those two songs together. Oh, and "Billy don't be a hero" too. Hehehehe, the bass player is wearing hot pants. HA! Just classic.

I just realised I was smiling throughout this entire video due to this catchy tune and words, and dint get me started the gorgeous outfits on Steve and his stockinged legs and silver shorts suit (OMG what a classic!) and Brian with his canary yellow outfit and he still looks hot (how is that even possible?!) I can remember early to mid 70's walking with my mother to the local laundromat. If this song was in the jukebox, I pestered her for change so I could listen to it. She eventually bought the single vinyl for me. Memories...

I got my 1st “record player” aged 6 for Christmas 1972 and this was on the first album I got with it …… I loved The Sweet and I still listen to their music in 2023 ….. and it still sounds great 👍

This song was one helluva earworm to any kid with a transistor radio in the 70's!

Knowing how to interpret this song, craft it, and make it fun with the right emphasis, then all of the guys lining up in the front.....all points to Sweet being more than just a flash in the pan...They had the energy, the looks, the style that made them the one band I would have loved to have seen....They had bottled magic in their songs.

My sister bought this 45 when I was about 8 0r 9. I used to sneak in her room and play it when she wasn't home. I later inherited the record. I'm a writer and I named a character Willy because of this song. Man, I love so many of their songs but this was my introduction. The whole band is criminally underrated, particularly Mick Tucker, who was as good as it got.
