Hey guys! you may notice that today I'm not having as many tics, a lot of people ask about it, and the simple answer is that tourette's is not a very consistent condition. Some days I have way more tics than others, and some situations, especially emotional ones, cause me to tic more frequently. I know there are going to be some people who are less attracted to videos like this. But I thought I'd upload it anyway for the loyal members of the community who value my experiences and identity beyond my condition. Thanks to those who take the time to watch, and care more about me than just my tics.

Stop everything you're doing and start treating yourselves the way you've been treating your crush. -Be selfish (in a good way), you must become your own priority. -Find real friends, friends who accept you the way you are. -Get rid of the pressure of having sex, it doesn't matter if you're a virgin, the only thing that matters is YOU.
@justahuman92732 жыл бұрын
Idk if that is good advice.. Maybe just: Respect other people's feelings and listen to them. Just care for them genuinely, without other intentions. Give them space when they need it and be there for them, when they need it. Just go with the flow and don't pressure anyone. Don't expect anything and don't try to interpret anything in your delusional state. Not everything revolves around you. Just be honest and tell your motivations straight away and if someone doesn't want it, just stop and move on.
@absurdious2 жыл бұрын
@@justahuman9273 I agree with what you are trying to say, but that's the next step, many people think that they're already treating you with respect (nice guys), but the truth is that they need to distance themselves from obsessing over their crush and try to learn how to respect themselves, because most of the times they are convinced they're losers or Beta and that society is pushing them down. That's not true, so they need to distance themselves from this "alpha-beta" narrative and discover their own value before being able to truly appreciate a potential crush's value. Trust me, I know, I used to be a nice guy... I know how to escape that "prison"

@@absurdious as an unironic “simp in recovery”, this is pretty accurate to most of these peoples mindset. You genuinely think you’re doing everything you can and that you’re caring for the other person. They don’t perceive the other side of the relationship because they’re too preoccupied with making sure that the other person remains interested because of awfully low self esteem. You Genuinely don’t realize how your behavior comes across. It’s why I advocate for staying out of serious relationships until you have enough self esteem to at least respect yourself. Gotta love urself before you love someone else. Also, I think to a lot of Simps, Sex is sort like the ultimate “Love” or whatever, so they just aim for that, not cause they’re simply horny, but because they want the validation of attraction that sex brings with it. They don’t feel like they’re actually wanted until they’re given sex. Again, I think it’s just a serious self confidence issue. Not really sure how to fix it besides what’s already been suggested.

Not going to lie this one hit home hard. I thank you for going out on a limb to talk about this and for not attacking the people and staying focused on the triggers/symptoms. This was REALLY eye opening for me as I realize I've totally done these things not knowing the perspective of the other person and the toxicity it brought. I truely thought I was being genuine and expressing myself and that this is what society/social media taught me was right. I wish I had seen this video when it 1st came out or sooner as the simp behavior cost me some relationships. I do truly care about someone but now we'll have to go separate ways. I truly meant the nice things I did and asked for their time for dates, gaming ect and not just in exchange for reassurances or sex but they didn't see it that way. Thank you for reading (if you do) and I liked this video very much. These types of wholistic viewpoints of another help me with my social queue and autism. Since I seem unable to develop intuitively it's refreshing to have a tutorial or example of another POV. PS - NO I'm NOT trying to simp to you. I wish someone had sat me down and explained this way back in Junior high. I was losing friends and I started buying people things to make them like me more, thinking it would get me somewhere. I empathize with the guy who said he had to step away because he was spending too much money. I didn't understand that relationships were not a business transaction, and as I got older I spent money on strip clubs and online cam girls... It was a financial nightmare. But it took a full on irl rejection to understand that none of this was working, and that I had to start taking care of myself for a change. And little by little I found reasons to like myself so that I didn't "require" attention, or sexual gratification (which I wasn't getting anyway lol). I feel like I'm in a much better place now, balancing my own needs and the needs of others. I'm starting to make friends who specifically don't want anything material out of me, and it's nice. It's not a giant group, and sometimes they have to move away, but I'm hopeful for the future again!

I finally let it all go and have been finally being myself for the past few months, I feel confident about myself. I was pretty bad when I was about 15 but my dad found out and fixed my mind-set right quick. He told me that if I was having feelings like that, it wasn't about the girl. It was about my own insecurities, and I needed to fix myself and start giving a shit about myself before I even thought about pursuing a relationship with anyone. He taught me a lot of stuff and got me out of this mindset. "You need to actually love yourself at least a little bit before you can try to give that to anyone else". So I did. Worked on the farm, started going to the gym, started meeting with a free counselor at school and doing a bunch of other stuff. Met my wife, joined the Marines, got married to her, deployed a bunch of times, got out, came home, and now I fly airplanes and raise ducks with her. Life is good. I hate to say it, but I'm starting to represent that last statement, Kevin. I'm not assertive, I am considered "low value" socially, I am eccentric according to society, and I fail in the dating scene. I've been alone for 13 years now with no foreseeable end in sight and am an emotional shell of who I used to be with the eyes of the classic shell-shocked veteran (picture Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones from "The Crystal Skull" and you'll know what my eyes are like). I do have my pride, even if I am shy, reserved and possess atrophied social skills. Still, I soldier on and just suck it up...even though my spirit is tired and worn out, my emotions are jaded, and I feel like I've been around for the last 2,000 years. I honestly think the only way I'll ever find a companion is if "she" notices the pain in my eyes and decides to do something about it. As it's said, introverts don't make friends...they get adopted by extroverts. Even after all that, I've never been desperate enough to beg for affection or attention like an obedient dog. I'd rather stand in the shadows for eternity than pull that spineless shite.

This is sweet, intelligent, well thought out and down to the bone. It takes a true honest person to just share themselves and their stories like this, stripped down and simple. It belies a higher intelligence. She even discusses simps without the usual denigration and dislike in the voice that a lot of people do because she's not looking at them or it in the same light, but simply as a description of a certain style of person, which is how it should be. I'd thank her for sharing like this and talking about people as just people. Because it is very simple. Everyone is their best when they're just themselves, not doing things for others in expectation of anything. If you can't be yourself with the one you want to be with, they most likely won't care for who you really are when you're not acting. And those who care the most won't care for your acting but care for who you are all the times when you're not performing or acting for someone or trying to buy their attention, love or anything. Just be yourself and life has a way of making things work and keeping you going and making you happy. Good things come to those who wait.

@SonOfASnitch3 жыл бұрын
@kobatochan96 you should rewatch for sure because he showed one point of interest and then seem to accept that she wasn’t interested. Then they became roommates and he got weird. TONS of people have been attracted to people, been let down, and then can stay friends and even live together. She trusted him and accepted when he said he understood she wasn’t interested. You also have no idea how much time had passed during the interaction and the roommate situation. It could have been a whole year with no weirdness from him and only friend interactions. You only know a small amount of information and the conclusion you jump to is that she used him? You do realize plenty of friends cook for each other, clean after one another, and buy things for each other? His intentions were the messed up ones. People are not machines you put nice coins in and get sex/relationships in return. You aren’t a friend if you are only doing nice things and expecting something in return. He knew she wasn’t interested and he kept trying. That is 100% on him. You can’t call someone an asshole for just trying to be a friend while said friend is creeping on them. This crap is why so many women are afraid to be friends with men. Maybe you’re young and don’t get it yet but seriously this is not okay. This is the start of some really bad and negative thinking. I’m not sure if my notifications are even turned on for YT but if I get a notification I have no problem educating. However, if you aren’t a kid or a misguided person I’ll just block and report you. I’m seriously done with seeing this bs. No means no. Accept it.

You can't be friends with a simp. Friendship is just having a spot in the ol' dating queue to a simp. I have dodged two female simps in my life. Both were like Anita described--desperate for love right out of the gate, and once I was clear that was not happening they both switched to the "well why can't we just be friends?" line. Simp #2 threw that one out there after I had blocked her in messenger. And on my phone. And my email. I've known women who have no clue about men like this and legit think they have found the only guys on the planet that want to listen to them talk about their problems for hours on end. (Ladies, no guy wants to hear you complain about the same thing for two months straight. If a guy is pretending to care, he wants something out of it.) I've also known women who are very much aware of this and use it to clean up on gifts and special favors. Just...don't feed the crazies, okay?

I was a simp at one point in my life. It comes from severe loneliness and having suffered abusive unstable relationships, I basically copied the unhealthy relationship around me and it bled into any relationship I had. Thankfully through years of counseling and forming healthy relationships I am in a stable and healthy marriage with an incredible human being, whom I do not worship, but love dearly no matter her faults, because like myself, we have many haha but yea, I notice when other men are exhibiting said behaviors and I try my best to get through to them. Having gone through it myself, I am able to do so. And so to those who have done these behaviors, reach out to those who are, and to those who are, there is a light at the end of that tunnel. A lot of the time it takes counseling and realizing mixed with self-evaluation to realize that it is unhealthy and it usually stems from an unhealthy environment, but there is a way from it where you can experience a healthy unconditional relationship. Which is truly beautiful and rewarding. Totally worth the heart-wrenching work it takes to get there.

We've all done some weak stuff around women when we were young. Now that I'm married and the pressure to "impress" women is off, I find it way easier to interact with them and I can see they react to me much better than they did in my youth. Don't be desperate, women can smell it from a mile away.

I've been that guy to girls in my life when I was younger. And it's not cause I'm a psycho, but cause I was genuinely confused and not raised right when it comes to this type of communication (and communication in general in fact). I've grown a lot as a person I've had great relationships, I have had shitty ones, but all mutual and two-sided and just... I wish someone had sat me down and taught me the message in this video sooner. For our generation that's raised on the Internet, where it's easier to be socially awkward than ever so many people need to hear the truths on here. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

If I had met my KZfaq crush(es) back when I was 15-18 [~2007] I'm certain I would have came off as a creep, I just wouldn't know how to handle myself or socialize correctly (I was already a mute and anti-social to begin with), and feeling like you know every detail about the person when they know nothing about you,,, yeah that's going to be weird AF. Especially when you have some online personalities that are just that -- they are personalities, which may not reflect who they are as a person. Even people like Jim Carrey bring this up that they've constructed themselves to play themselves, but feel lost like they don't have a real identity. Not to mention too while you're a teenager there's still a ton of brain development, critical thinking, and decision making that is still being developed, so naturally people are going to be socially weird and make weird decisions until they mature more.

Wow this video was very insightful, and humbling I related to the mentality I had for a long time about trying to empress and be the most awesome only to try and get or keep a relationship. I am 38 and these days I have a balance I want to give my friends and myself the best version possible. I have an attractive woman I call my friend, and by not pushing for the relationship because she is totally worth one, I relished early on in talking to her and hanging out every once and awhile that her friendship is indispensable a true blessing. I realize the reason this friendship blossomed is I gave her the most genuine me I ever had. I am still single and temptation to want to move to another level hits me but because this friendship grew into something indescribable I am grateful selfishness stayed away. Today I realize if it forced, all be it by trying to convince the interest you are the once than it is not of the heart. I know today I am the best version of me and the relationship that fits will come in time. And like my amazing friend I never even imagined having. I will be surprised and most grateful for. Besides currently I am enjoying continuing to get to know myself

A lot of people haven’t learnt to see the value of other people being happy. They give, not because they want the best for the other, but because they expect something for themselves. Everybody is capable of selfless love, but not many people have learned to experience it and see the value in it.

I used to be a simp. I've got no shame in admitting it, because kinda like Anita didn't realise what was actually going on psychologically, neither did i. I had no idea how to interact with girls and that was mainly because i was such a young dude at the time, and all i had learned from my parents was to just "be nice to them". So i took that advice very literally and in doing so, completely forgot to also be nice to myself. I came to realise that a lot of girls take advantage of these guys by leading them on and accepting the attention without ever returning it, which can cause a lot of psychological damage as well, causing them to "simp" even harder than before. It wasn't until i got older and matured more that i started realising that being "nice" wasn't impressive at all, it's just the minimal expectation. If you're nice, thats great, but you should also take care of yourself, be independent, respect yourself and also respect any boundaries your crush has set. You can never control how somebody else feels about you, no matter how much you shower them in love or affection, how many gifts you buy, or how nice the car you drive is. They are a human being with infinite value, and so are you. The question is not "What will it take to woo this girl", but rather "How should i improve myself so that she notices me?" Thanks for reading :)
@nessuno19843 жыл бұрын
Very few girls take advantage. Girls are taught to be nice and be agreeable all the time so they will accept anything guys say or give to them to not hurt the guy's feelings. Girls actually feel really bad and worry about hurting boys' feelings, even if they are smiling at the time. Boys need to be taught by their parents how to treat girls correctly and girls need to be taught how to say no and stand up for themselves.
@lucasdarianschwendlervieir37143 жыл бұрын
This a mature take and I'm glad you are sharing it with the world :) Only issue I take is the last statement, where I think it's fine to have 'she notices me' as a motivation, but the goal in the end is to improve yourself, full stop. The noticing will just be a consequence, but not the goal.
@mikelee26543 жыл бұрын
i'd iterate on that last question one step further and make the question "how should i improve myself for my own sake". im sorry but if your only motivation for self improvement is to impress someone else it's just advanced simping.

I wish someone had a sit down with me when I was a teenager to tell me I had a mild simp problem. I could've gotten my crap together much sooner. I was infatuated with a girl who dated someone till the end of high school and had no idea other girls liked me until they told me years later. Shit, I had no idea girls liked me when I was in college. I felt lonely and unloved till I turned 28. That's when I met my wife. That was the first time I knowingly and purposefully didn't let us become friends and asked her out instead. Damn, it worked. I

Duck I had the same issue... later in college I realized that it's been months every other week some girl would stare or smile when long commutes in packed cities was a thing, and I wouldn't do jackshit about it and deny myself... Then you realize 'ugly ducks' with meh jobs of either gender can have very interesting personalities and values that attract 'catches', and that there are actually tons of women looking for you or me when we just become a decent, strong version of ourselves basically.

You should never do something nice for someone and expect something in return, especially a friend. Never assume that you'll be rewarded, especially with something specific in mind, just because you were a decent human being for a moment. When I do something nice it's because I wanted to do it. I don't expect anything from anyone or for them to even thank me for doing what I thought was right, I don't need them to. I do it because I know who I am, what I wanted to do and that I was capable of doing it. I know everyone has heard it by now but when you spell out the word "Assume" it's "ASSuME". You feel horrible for not getting what you want, you make the other person feel horrible for not giving you what you wanted, because they realized you were keeping tabs expecting something in return and ruin the entire possibility of you ever being with that person. Or they may just not see you in a romantic way. But doing that will surely end what could've been a good friendship. Also, thank you for sharing the story(s). Very well explained and detailed, perfect for getting your point across. And respect for your tolerance with it. Your friends are lucky they have you.

I just realized that Anita showed me that I was a simp for a girl I said to myself I used to like, but still like when I try not to. She is indeed a beautiful girl with a beautiful personality, but is already taken and has made it clear that she doesn’t want to date me. She also decided to tell me after about a couple of days of us being friends that when I asked her out that my best friend was actually dating her at the moment. My friend had asked her out as a bet, and after they broke up she ended up finding another guy. Then later when we become friends she makes it clear “ohh I have a bf” and I’m cool with it. Then we’re talking and I make a edit that she says I put no effort into at all when I made it. I was sadly on my man period and she was on her period period. Point is I did simp for this girl for a very long time, and I would do anything that she would need me to do as friends now that I have realized how bad it is to have a simp for a friend. Damn that’s quite personal but hey Not like I should care

You know, I never thought of myself as a simp...but looking at the definition and how you explained it, i am. I'm self aware of who and what i am and looking at how i act...i am a simp. I kind of don't want to be because it lowkey sounds like a toxic mindset. But at the same time i do feel desperate at times and my loneliness overtakes me. I've been called toxic for this reason...idk what to do to fix that. But at the same time i feel hopeless like the way you describe how simps are. So most times i let the demons take over because i feel really hopeless. And i want to make sure that you know that im not criticizing you for this, not that you may have felt like it, but i at least want to sort of thank you for making me realize it. I kind of didn't have a word to describe my behaviors, so thank you. Now i just gotta find a way to improve myself. But some(most)times, it feels comforting to listen to your inner demons, as bad as it is😔
