Hello, I enjoyed listening to you playing and also explaining about Go Piano. I recently acquired one, but still have a few doubts, and would appreciate if you could help me. I don't know how to "save" a certain selection of tone. I would like to use mainly the European Pf. I adjust the tone to number 03, but every time I turn off the piano when I turn it on again, the tone is always number 01, Go Grand. Is it possible to "save" this selection? I thank you in advance for your help, if possible.

@sweetwater
@sweetwater 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, Paul. That is a great question! You would be able to use the Go Piano without having it connecting to a speaker of any kind. But if you did want to use a speaker in the future, you would be able to go out of the 1/8" output on the back. The piano isn't going to be as loud as some other digital pianos out there with on board speaker systems, as it just has 2.5W per side, but the overall sound quality is great. Let us know if you have any other questions! Maryann Shirley, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1774, maryann_shirley@sweetwater.com

I'm trying to decide between the Keys and the Piano for EP sounds. It seems like the Keys has more sounds, but almost all EP's have a modulation effect. Does the Piano have at least 1 very smooth (rhodes mk1 or so) EP and 1 more bitey (mk2 or wurly) EP without any modulation fx? I like to add my own FX externally.
@OttosTheName
@OttosTheName 4 жыл бұрын
Update: the Piano has a clean Rhodes, 1 with phaser, 1 with trem and a Wurly with trem, no clean one. Also a clean Clavinet and a D50 E-piano.

@sweetwater
@sweetwater 3 жыл бұрын
Hello! You can hook up the GoPiano via MIDI, either through USB or wirelessly through Bluetooth, into your computer. Once the MIDI connection is made, any virtual instrument program you're running on your computer (or inside of a DAW software) can be controlled by the GoPiano. So, you can't add sounds to the GoPiano per se, but you can use it to play any sounds you have loaded into your computer. If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. @sweetwater
@sweetwater 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Hod! Hope your 2021 is off to a great start. That's a good question: while the GO:PIANO is more focused on piano sounds and doesn't have as wide of a selection as the smaller GO:KEYS, the overall quality of the sounds is similar between the two instruments. If you need a wider variety of sounds to choose from, I would probably go for the GO:KEYS. Hope this helps clear things up. Hello! If you connect the "phones" output on the back into any powered PA speaker or system, you'll be able to bypass the internal speakers here and you should have all the volume you need for a live concert. The keys shouldn't be mounted crooked, unless your unit is broken - they're all flat and smooth and parallel to one another. If you'd like to go into more detail, feel free to call me. The built-in audio recorder, and ability to stream bluetooth audio or MIDI to a device, are two key features in the GoPiano that the Yamaha NP12 does not have. How is the key weight?
@sweetwater

Hello, Natthaphol! The GoPiano has 61 synth action keys, meaning they don't have the weight or resistance of a grand piano key. They are nice and light and responsive and fun to play! Thanks for the interest! Nick LaMendola, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (260) 247-6613

I have the same question here. I have viewed a review for NP12 that Yamaha has an iOS App where you could maximize the functionality of the NP12. I am really curious what is the big difference in terms of quality and functionality. I hope this can be answered.

I tried it once at the mall and I'm telling you that the Piaggero np-12 is better in terms of functionality and sounds. Whereas in key feel I'd have to go with Roland because it's slightly better than np-12.

I did. Roland: much smaller, lighter, impressive , bloody good design. 40 stunning sounds, piano second to no-one. It costs almost like 2 Piaggieros. Piaggiero: slightly larger and heavier, speakers on sides :( only 10 sounds: all quite unimpressive aside the piano. It costs half of the Roland. Both: Couldn't tell which gran piano sounds better,as they're both far superior to what I'd expect at this price range. UNWEIGHTENED keys to maximize portability/lightweight. However, both got great feeling and advanced velocity-sensitive technology which mimicks an actual digital piano very well. Great expressivity in both cases.

Good morning Sweetwater Staff, I have one question... BTW Go Piano and yamaha Np.. Which has the best piano feeling and sound? Thank in advance for your answer. Great Job👍👍👍

Hello! This is a great question, and a tough competition. Personally, I think these pianos feel about the same. Their keybeds are both very smooth feeling, and their sound quality is both excellent. The bluetooth MIDI feature in the Roland is a nice standout, if that has use to you. So for me, that would make the GoPiano my top choice. If you'd like to go into more detail, please call my number below. Thanks for your interest! Nick LaMendola, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (260) 247-6613

@@sweetwater Thanks so much Nick.. I went for Roland Go Piano.. I ve actually tried both.. Even if I like yamaha sound.. Roland piano sounds and feeling are little bit better and the tones in roland are much richer than Np.. Great Go Piano.. Really a nice Piano on the Go and for small rooms or flat.. I connected it to my PA and to a good sustain pedal for a real piano feeling and it seems really a Grand Piano or Wurli or Rodhes.. GREAT!!!

But what about the Go Piano vs. the Korg SV-1?
@gracemalley6821
@gracemalley6821 2 жыл бұрын
The key height and gap variance is huge (shown at 0:58 seconds). Looks like an old upright from the 1940's that has been pounded on. Too bad, it looks like a nice unit otherwise.

I just returned my Roland Go-Piano 88. While the sound was great each key required a different touch to play the note. Playing chords was very difficult. I think Roland missed the mark on this one. I really love my Roland FP-30, as as much as my Steinway Model O.

Hello, Swaroop Sinha. It would be possible to use in the studio, but not optimal. The preferred output for studio would be line level or instrument level out, and this only uses headphone and bluetooth. You may be able to get acceptable results using the headphone output, though.
