SWFL Eagles ~ Stick-capades! Squabbles & Nipping Over Stick Placement! F23 TAKES M's Stick! 10.27.23

It was another busy day of deliveries for M15 & F23! She flies in with a stick and M15 tries to help her place it. The first stick discussions are beginning with a bit of arguing between themselves. M15 goes to the attic and F23 works on a nest rail stick
M15 flies off and returns with a HUGE stick and clips F23 around the neck with it when he lands! She is not happy about that and nips at M's head! He responds with the same & so does she! They will spend the next five minutes arguing over the stick placement with F23 taking M15's stick! He goes to the attic to wait & lets F23 figure it out lol
As soon as she goes to the spike, he drops back down to the nest to do some work on the airplant and his stick. But F23 is not finished either and drops to the nest and they argue some more. M wants to place HIS stick and F23 keeps nipping at him & trying to take it. Finally she gives up and goes to the attic - we have some beautiful closeups of her! M15 FINALLY is alone on the nest and he gets to place his big stick! Whew! Relationships can be difficult at times lol Thank you for watching!

It's a joy watching this pair of newly wed!😂 Both are busy with furnishing that beautiful home! Looks like the home is still under construction!😅 F23 isone independent lady,she wants her way too!😅 Mighty M makes sure the placement of the sticks is well constructed,he wants his babies to be secured!! Diane--This Nest is not the Nest i follow. It's not that stick, but what it means to both of them. To F23--it's a means of pulling rank on M 15. To him, It's a logical way to continue with Nest Reconstruction at this stage. Bigger sticks go to outside to be positioned as Rails for Eaglet protection. On this video, don't see alot of Affection shown. M--15 gives F23 a affectionate light "love Tap" on the head. She in response elsewhere(from another cause) attempts a Weaponized Beak Thrust to the Head, which he dodges, knowing what that was. The Language of Sticks is not practiced here ,meaning a number of things like bonding, affection display, and learning what other Mate is thinking. Cali Condor(BBL) has posted a few videos in last several days showing old hand Eagles(5 yr nesting) engaging in this form of communication. One moves a stick here, both move it there, one moves it somewhere else. Not like here, as one tries to wrest it from the other. It looks like nonsense activity but it's an essential Adult eagle life Activity for a successful Eagle Pair. M-15 & F23 have the first step in the Basket---Nestoration activity showing they want to raise an Eagle family. Notice One then the other flies to upper limb off the nest floor, but does not fly away. Then comes back down later to further engage their Mate because they want to be together and stay together. I'm not an eagle, but had a Pet Crow from which i learned a lot about Love, affection and acceptance. This is a young Eagle Pair together for first Nest yr. Being successful Parents is paramount. Their relationship will evolve over time

Yea she is!! I've been saying that! That's why I think she knows what happened to Harriet like M15 knows what happened to Ozzie Ozzie was getting old. M15 young, faster and stronger. Harriet was getting old. F23 Young, faster and stronger. I say no more. Just strange how that worked out But generally the Female is the boss and the male has to impress her and prove himself not the other way around. F23 came in the area from wherever, who knows? She wanted that nest, the territory and she wanted him I'm thinking maybe this is not her first go around. She's very young and the hints of black is still in her head feathers. But she seems to know what she wants and what she's doing. I think she maybe had a partner and a nest and something happened. Maybe got destroyed in a storm or something and her partner may have gotten ki||Ed. IDK just my theory. Hopefully we will get to see how experienced she really is when her babies hatch This ain't the time for them to be having their first married fight lol they better stay in that nest before we're watching Owls instead of Eagles!!

They are a funny to watch! F23 is just developing her own character to have the chance to do her part in making the nest! She’s just saying, “I brought it let me place it!” or “Do you have to poke right where I am?” LOL🦅🦅❤️

*Where are we supposed to put THAT?* Eventually, they got his "tree" trimmed and M15 managed to find a place he likes. That's for now! 😂 It's an interesting dynamic, in that he's teaching her things but ultimately the female rules the roost and does nest construction planning. There's a thin line for them, as in his teaching role, M15 is taking a stronger stance than he would in a harmonious nest as he had with Harriet, when she was teaching him. They don't take these combo beakies/arguies too seriously and they mate regularly. Mighty M is showing dominance over HIS nest and most naturally will need some time to relinquish his strong hold on it. After all it has been HIS home for the past 8 yrs. Over time I'm sure his love and confidence in her will allow him to relax his grip a bit (I'm thinking)❤+❤

🤣🤣🤣 Thx LadyHawk. I needed a good laugh tonight. M brings in a doggone tree for pete's sake! F takes a look at it and says, "What am I supposed to do with THAT?" And, the party was on after that! 😂 Eagles just love their stick wars, don't they? Rita almost wing-slapped Ron a while back for bringing in a gigantic stick, LOL. I think the guys are just trying to impress their wives with all their macho man strength or something.💪I think it's all hysterical. I believe they did early on. Harriet taught him the way she wanted things to go!😊. He’s used to doing all of this with Harriet, and now his way. They even had some of that while rebuilding the nest after the storm that took down the nest.❤️🦅🦅❤️ Bless her! RIP Harriet

@@michellecoshow2927 Yea the female is usually the boss in the Eagle world. Watching some of the other nests that are on camera I used to say how lucky M15 was to have Harriet because she wasn't like that. Some of them are downright mean!! Like this one couple. The poor male had tried and tried to feed the baby, I think they only had one, and she would NOT let him. She'd wring the food right out of his beak and do it herself. But Harriet was settled, secure and sure of herself. She was estimated to be close to 30 or maybe she was. She had had plenty of time to settle down. F23 is just turned 5 or possibly getting ready to turn 5. She's a new adult. Unfortunately we probably shouldn't expect her to settle down any this year. She's gonna get worse if anything after their babies hatch. Hopefully she will settle down some as the years go by M15 is trying to make the nest him and Harriet's way. F23 just ain't having it. She's definitely hard to like. But I don't hate her. I mean she's just being an Eagle lol A whole A$$hole of one but that's what we got lol Hopefully nothing happens to her. I don't want to see M15 go through that again. He doesn't deserve it. At least we don't have crazy people threatening to k1|| her like they were him. Talk about crazy. There had to be notices put up that it's illegal to harm a Bald Eagle and everything else that goes with it

I had a blast watching these two yesterday. F23 is such a typical STUBBORN female-lol! M15 knew that stick was going to be a challenge, F23 just makes the challenge harder. Loved the way she gave him the silent treatment after he got it placed. F23 is very determined, a good quality going forward. Good thing M15 has his experience with Harriet-he knows when to let things be. Praying for a successful season 12. Thanks Lady Hawk.❤❤🦅🦅

for one thing Harriet was an older, experienced female when she trained M15. I believe they will work things out as she matures. Harriet and M15 had many many years to develop their bond.

Do you know who this mighty eagle🦅is and how lucky you are that he, the great and powerful M15, (yes, I almost said "OZ😂)", has chosen you as his mate? Please choose your battles (over a few sticks) wisely, My Dear. For, you see, M15 is capable of not just being a spectacular🏆 mate who will provide handsomely for both you and your eaglets, on top of defending the nest to the death, in all fairness you should be told he has already proven that he can take over your role and be both a father🥇AND a mother🥇 should the necessity of it arise.😉 Although we like you very much😁 and believe you will be a splendid partner and mate👍to M15🤩we are rather fond of him.🙌You might even say, we are a little biased because we know just how truly special M15💖is. So, I ask you, F23, a little more breaking🥰 please, and less nipping with M15. He absolutely deserves it. 💝Take it from someone who knows. Ocassionally I conversie with the eagles as if they were right before me and understand every word of advice I give profusely at times. To me, it looks like the owls are ruining the work that they're doing on the nest. There's a lot of sticks inside the nest bowl that weren't there before last night. But it could be the angle. Also do you think that they know the owls are coming there at night? Is there some kind of scent or other indication to the Eagles that the owls have been there?💜🙏💜🙏
