A screw lose! I have lots (6 to be precise) in the front locker. We were also did not plan to change our van as we have had a twin axle for 11 years that was fine. But the big fridge, rad heating and the island fixed bed sold us on it together with a great price. It was an unsold 2017 dealer special that we picked up in Oct 2018. We too were very excited and have loved using it for 56 days last year. On return from a cruise in January a safety recall from Swift awaited us telling us not to use the van until expected and to confirm ownership and that the inspection programme would take until July! Communication was by email or post no phone calls were entertained. We found out the problem was screws falling out of the bracket in the front locker that was part of the front bulkhead this in turn stressed the other fittings causing the locker floor to drop . Some excuse about the wrong screws being fitted during production. My inspection after much jumping up and down was the week lockdown started so we are off the road for a good while yet. The factory is closed until September and the inspection team are visiting people based near Hull. No hotels open so they cannot come south. So keep an eye on those locker screws. Also do not put too much weight on the kitchen pull out storage as the screws holding that on are miniscule. I re-engineered that when it fell of. The wardrobe rail is held on with a staple and a little glue

We love our Conqueror 645. Beautifully laid out and finished. The 2020 model has even more storage. Swift have done away with the cupboard above your bar area. No bad thing as we’ve both bashed our heads on it! Totally agree with your comments re towing a twin axle much more stable and smoother than a single. Enjoy your van, we will be out again once beloved has finished her chemotherapy and has recovered sufficiently to travel. We should have been on our way to France today for a month, never mind, always next year! Stay safe.

I tow my Elddis Crusader Storm twin axel with my Range Rover Sport, and I have to agree, I will never go back to a single axle, so smooth and stable.

Hi K & M, remember most insurance company ask for two locks fitted on same axle. If only one as in the Vlog the bad guys just puncture the wheel with the lock on with a spike in side wall. The lock is then useless and just drive away. Always two locks same axle when at home or storage.

It’s two locks on the same side, not the same axle. If you’re using those horrible AlKo ones they are a real pain to fit. A lok n level device makes it easier but they’re very expensive for what they are. The Wraith locks are much easier to fit. I use a pair of SAS wheel clamps on the near side in storage, the offside when I’m on site. The caravan club insurance that I use charge a tiny bit more for not using the AlKo locks.

We had the loc- & level, it was like being on a boat, made you feel sea sick, maybe KZfaq...How to steal a caravan?. Let's not get paranoid , no lock will stop them....little do likies. Have fun in the sun people's. Enjoy it when we can do it again.

Congratulations on your new caravan it’s stunning. Twin axel is definitely the way to go and I’m glad you have purchased the 4 motors and not just two, well worth it. Our first caravan was a baily pegasis brindsi single axe but now have a new unicorn Pamplona and it just sits behind no problem, we’ve had it as far as lake garda with no problem at all. You kept that one quiet! Bet you were eager to let the cat of the bag just as we were with our Motorhome. Beautiful caravan. We had Swift Challenger 625 SE and we loved that caravan. I don't think you can go far wrong with a Swift. I am so excited for you to start the new season when sites open. Can't wait to see the videos. It will be a while before I come out of Shielding but we have everything to look forward to. We are definitely aiming for the September meet up if it still goes ahead, might even be our first trip out. I'm counting down the days to have something to focus on (and for Rich to have a deadline for the house to be finished). We are Especially looking forward to meeting you guys. Hi Lin, You know exactly how we feel 😀 Congratulations on your new motorhome 🎉 Can’t wait for you to show her off! The reason we kept quiet about it was because we felt back in March & the months that followed, it would be insensitive considering the personal & financial difficulties the majority of people were experiencing. Hopefully now we’re moving in the right direction on the road to recovery🤞September is all looking good, we’ve been in regular contact with the site, they’ve implemented many changes to ensure everyone’s safety. We’ll be updating everyone with a video next month. We took delivery of a new Swift Challenger 560 in November 2019. Got to use it twice before country went into lockdown. We had the Truma air con added as an extra , it’s needed with the weather these days and also abroad . You will be very pleased with the Swift Challenger. You might want to consider the purchase of a Protec towing cover to keep that lovely black front in tip top condition.

We have a tow cover wouldnt go anywhere without it we also put a breathable cover over the caravan for winter it really helps

Just thought i;d add, once we done all that we actually put 2x gas bottles in the front locker & usually end up with a 70. kg - 80.00 kg nose weight, which is good for our Skoda Octavia Scout 4 x 4 ( which allows us to tow the weight!. This suits us just fine!!, depending on tow vehicle etc!. Currently trying to book a week away???, its a bit of a job at the moment ( LOL ). We tend to travel at 55 -57 mph on cruise control etc, Caravan seems happy as doe's Car & we usually get approx 30.00 mpg.with the Caravan on the back. Craig, Kristen & Scooby

Hi Keith and Michele. What a coincidence we ordered a 2020 Swift Challenger 645 just two weeks ago and later the same evening we saw your KZfaq video. Likewise we wanted a bigger fridge and decided to go for a twin axel and end bathroom as our kids are all grown up now so no need to have the mid bathroom like our previous Coachman. To be honest we weren’t too sure on going for a Swift but dealer was brilliant and helped us enormously with our choice. We picked it up yesterday and brought it home. It’s absolutely beautiful and with being the GTS version has the extra lux plus pack. We are now in the process of making a few simple adjustments to our preference and have our first trip booked on the 18th July, providing there’s no adverse change to the lockdown. Anyway we thought this video, like all the others were brilliant and looking forward to the next. Bye for now Tracey and Ty .😊

Well done Keith & Michele great caravan and yes twin axle is defiantly the way to go. Had mine for 4 years and never had a stability problem while towing. Having said that, I am careful when loading up. Can't wait for the camps to open...

Beautiful new caravan! We were new to caravaning last year with a 2005 swift challenger, loved it so we upgraded in December to a 2013 Sterling Eccles Quartz SE, very similar layout but single axle and under counter fridge. She's been sat on the drive ever since! Haha. Can't wait to get away in her on 4th July fingers crossed! Enjoy your stunning new van for the rest of the year, stay safe! 👍

You’re welcome. Found your channel yeSterday and binge watching. We’re looking into getting a camper van/motor home or caravan. Trying to work out which would work best for us. How easy is it getting a caravan in and out of storage? I’m thinking with a motorhome we can just jump in and drive but they are almost 4 times the cost compared to a caravan.

Hi Carolyn, It really is a personal preference deciding which leisure vehicle to go for. Each has its pros & cons. You need to spend as much time as possible at dealerships, sitting in a caravan or motorhome, picturing your day & how you will spend your time. Do lots of research! We have looked at motorhomes in the past but decided a caravan was more suitable for the type of holidays we want. Accessibility is important when looking at storage sites, as is the security measures in place. Hope this helps, best wishes, Keith & Michele.

Hello Keith and Michele, just joined you channel and watched your video of your new caravan we also changed our Barcelona last year ( 2019) to a brand new Coachman 675 Laser and it is identical to yours in layout we absolutely love our Coachman and as you say it is the height of luxury, we have just had conformation of our booking at the CAMH club in Looe Cornwall so in a week we will be hitting the road for the first time since Christmas as all our booking up to the end of June were cancelled. Hi, Great video as usual. We have purchased several caravans from where you bought yours from but due to poor customer services we bought our Swift Elegance 580 from a dealer 130 miles from us in Lincolnshire. We are also pleased with our Swift it really is luxury on wheels... We bought it in 2018 and to be honest I haven't found anything that we would possibly replace it with. However if Swift do the 8 feet Elegance for 2021 I might be tempted! I'm a new subscriber and enjoy your videos very much...

Hi Mark, Welcome to our channel. So sorry to hear of your bad experience with your initial caravan dealer, personally we don’t deal with after sales as we use a mobile NCC engineer for servicing. This is purely because a round trip to get there is over 4 hours! The sales team, in our experience, always go the extra mile to help in any way they can, which is why we’ve been back 3 times to purchase 😀 Look forward to hearing if you get tempted next year 😉 Sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.

Beautiful looking caravan, its literally sublime with the black and white colour scheme and with the awning it looks just splendid, hoping you have plenty of good times together in this beauty. Would love a double axle caravan but here in France the majority of sites will refuse access.............. WHY...........because all of the travelling community (thats gypsies to normal people) use them, so the camping sites do not want to let them on and then later on, have a huge problem getting them off their property with them being out of pocket !!! Subscribed by the way, really impressed with this video

Hello thanks for showing me round your van .. bought an older one at end of season last year and was hoping to getaway at easter.. em ... first caravan so good to see where you put stuff ...wanted to add the bike rack but mine is last year with out the rails fitted wonder if best to leave it as it is anyway love your videos x

Hi Mick, Congratulations on your caravan 🎉Hopefully you’ll be able to get out very soon now that restrictions have been lifted. In our opinion we wouldn’t want to drill holes into the back of the caravan but that’s our personal choice. You may want to have a look at A-frame bike carriers or roof rack for bikes. Love the fridge! You do not say what power outlet your USB sockets are and it would be good for people to know as so many things will not charge on a low ampage. The ones iI have fitted to our caravan and previously to our American motorhome had a 1A and 2.1A outlet. Now the latest ipad pro needs 2.4 A but still chargeson 2.1A slower but some fast charge mobiles now need 4A. It would also be great to see how easy the bed pulls out and the space at the end that is available at night for the person furthest away from the bathroom. Great video presentation though :)

nice van there guys ,we went to buy a air porch awning this time last year and came away putting down a deposit for a swift challenger sport ,been looking for this lay out for a long time and they don't come a long that often so we snatched it up, and we still haven't got the awning yet

Hi, Congrats on your new purchase. We bought a 2018 Challenger 645 as our first caravan! Initially had some reservations as to size and twin axle. Tbh never looked back, we love it. We’ve gone the other way back to single from Twin. We prefer the single from a convience and towing point of view. With a twin we wouldn’t be able to have it at home. Nice caravan👍 if you want to find out how to fit two Alko locks to a twin there is a video on my channel... I highly recommend getting a lock n level. Cheers, Oliver.

Lovely caravan. We bought the Challenger 480 this year (largest size that will fit in our back garden). We love it. We have one problem, though. It is very difficult to get the spare tyre out of the front locker. It won’t go under the locker hinge to get to the centre of the van. Have you tried to get your spare out and if so did you have any problems. I thought having the spare in the front would be easier than underslung. I’m not so sure now. Would love to see a video of you removing the spare. Take care. Steve
