Swimbaits and Shad Bodies: An In-Depth Perspective

Күн бұрынIn this video, I will be discussing swimbaits and shad bodies regarding how I like to use them. From my personal experience, they thrive in early spring/backbay applications and have no problem imitating a number of bait patterns available in our waters. This video is segregated between swimbaits in which you rig on a jig head as well as swimbaits that have a weight system integrated into them such as a storm wild eye. good stuff as always. internally weighted soft plastics were all the rage 15 years ago when manufacturers hadn't really figured out how to diversify a jig / hook and soft plastic offering and make some of the different shapes and styles. we've since backed away from them for whatever reason but they've got their place. they give a paddletail and maintain course when you take them through the water column. they swim.

Good stuff very effective the tsunami shads and soft plastics in back bay spring fishing. I throw a teaser on as well and often double hook up or catch on the teaser

For the amount of info and experience you provide you are criminally undersubscribed to. Those tsunami shads have been money for me when the bucktail or standard jighead wasn't gettin hit. It's hard for me to move off the bucktail especially in a strong current. I always feel like I need to get down fast to sweep the bridge line I fish alot.

Do you use a heavier jig head for the Z-man because it’s more buoyant?

I use it relative to the size of the bait, but you can also use a lighter jig head with a long Shank…typically the bigger the jig head the longer the shank but there’s always variations, hope this helps 💯
