Very good review.I couldn’t find a video that actually had that first aquaskinz plug bag.Is the belt loop strong on that one because I am worried it could rip off in the surf jumping off rocks.might as well just buy the gear up one but if this one is good I will purchase it.Thanks

I watched this video and enjoyed your explanation of the swimmers. Can you talk about your rod and reel setup? Line and leader? I’m primarily a kayak angler, but joined a solid surf casting group and am trying to learn the ways of the sand walkers and rock hoppers. Nice job hanging a 40# off a swimmer!

That’s the same up here in the Seattle area for Salmon fishing! Straight Combat fishing on rivers, people AKA Asians, Russians are so greedy casting over your shoulder and when I say fish on while setting my hook I got someone casting right over my head and another person stepping into a spot right as I’m trying to get my fish! Im like 🤬 WTF!

Thanks for sharing your 9s Lamis. Question on te 9"2. If the original JS had been cut one foot, I assume that the reel seat has been moved so as to preserve the lenght of the handle. Right? Or does that rod in particular (and its later iterations) have a shorter handle?

I got questions for you ? What do think about carbon surf 11’ 1-5 paired with visor 6 vs dna 10’6 paired with van staal vr 175
@surfcastingtheisland49145 ай бұрын
I’m not familiar with the visser series reels. In terms of the vr 175 that would pair nicely on the 11 foot carbon even the 10 foot 6 DNA. Although I may even size down to a 150 for the dna as it’s a lighter build rod.
@Jersey-fishing-eagle5 ай бұрын
@@surfcastingtheisland4914 you know I had a vr 150 but I return it for 175 you gave me idea because I want a zeebass reel as well . What do think a should put on 10’ carbon surf rod

What's the big difference between the 9ft genesis and this rod besides the price?
@surfcastingtheisland49147 ай бұрын
The genesis is a 2 piece rod. Evolution is a one piece construction that only comes as a blank in which you need someone to build it. I prefer one piece over 2 any day of the week.
@michaeloshea30907 ай бұрын
@@surfcastingtheisland4914 I have to agree about a one piece rod. I've been surfcasting for fifty years and I've seen so many improvements in rods over the years. As you get older the rods you use get lighter and shorter. I love my odm genesis nine footer and as a former rod builder I would never have a custom rod built today.
