Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

i go surfing almost every other day... which means there are plenty of fish, sharks, and dolphins so i would definitely go swimming in a pond with some fish 😂

I can't remember the last time I swam in water that was 75F. Last night I happily slept with the windows open all night while the night air was 57F. 😂

When I was a kid, we lived on my great grandfather's farm, and there was a big ol pond in the front of the house...there were fish, snakes, bugs, etc. We spent our summers in there.

As a Minnesotan, I have swam in ponds, lakes, rivers and creeks. Yes I still get the heebie geebies (Especially since I got a crawdaddy to pinch my bellybutton once). But since i'm in the "Land of 10,000 Lakes", it's just a given that I love to swim in our many lakes haha

Oh my DaNelle you look so young and beautiful ! I have been noticing that lately you have been looking younger and have such a fresh look. I love your pond.. absolutely beautiful. Such a neat idea of putting that little tunnel pipe in for the kittens to play with.. definitely helps with the Curiosity. Oh my your fruit harvest was productive this year. Fruit trees or labor of love, it takes so long to produce but once they do you're in heaven. It's so nice that Ethan's able to be with the family fully again. When I use to do horse riding at one place in the summer we’d jump into there lake that had fish to cool off. Was so much fun! Doesn’t matter to me that fish are in the water one bit

I grew up swimming in a lake with lots of fish, & Lilly pads ! And a few black bears that slept in the marshes ! Loved every minute ! But never had a pig!! Ha, that's hilarious ! Pig, puppy & peaches....what a fun week ! Thanks for all the laughs !

Be sure to clean out the dying leaves of your water lollies. They cause algae when they decompost on the bottom of your pond. Snails are usually not a great thing in ponds. It's been awhile since I've studied that aspect though.
