Did you Know that you can swing slower but hit the golf ball further? In this video Danny Maude reveals 3 things you can do to hit driver longer without the need to have a full backswing or hit the golf ball any harder or faster.
We all know that increasing club head speed with driver is a major factor in hitting driver longer but the three things that Danny shares in this golf lesson are equally as important and far easier for the average golfer to add into their games.

ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I'll be honest I just listened to your podcast for the first time and have subscribed. The thing I'm seeing is that second hit the heel hit you barely swung because of your back and still generated 90+mph club head speed. I game the Cobra Radspeed driver the milled face leaves a ball mark so I can see on the course where I'm hitting the face. This is the third podcast I'm seeing good job my friend.

Still shin deep in snow in Northern Michigan. However, when Spring arrives and I am able to see the grass again, I will be more conscious of head position and loft. As a 73-year old, I imagine allowing my head to move a bit may contribute to a better swing path. Thank you. You are a tremendous resource for those of us who are visual and tactile learners.

I had a chance to use these tips at a simulator. I could feel that my driver wasn't getting good distance, and this video brought 20-30 yards added distance. Just simply slightly changing my alignment and using the shoulder slant, I could see immediate results. Also helped my 3 wood. And the explanation for why I would sometimes pop the ball up was spot on!

Super simple video, being more efficient with your strike will have a massive bearing in the distance you hit. The fact in your video you are swinging it at such a swing speed is very comparable to most golfers who are striving for more distance and speed.

This is the best video I have seen on how to improve length on a driver. As usual, Danny makes it so simple with tuition that keeps your mind uncluttered and distils it down to 3 easy to implement steps. Danny really explains the dynamics in such a simple way that it makes you think, "Why has noone explained it like this before?". Great stuff.

I use the bowed, or held off left hand through impact, when I’m trying the flight the ball down. It works just like you said. Less spin. I feel like it also slightly delofts the face. Great for knock-down iron shots, that create a little more run-out, or hitting into a strong wind. Great stuff, as always, Danny!

Hey Danny, I'm relatively new to the channel and first time making a comment. Love the video. I was introduced to a drill that I assume would help with point number three - I'll call it the anti-scoop move. It was using an alignment stick and dragging it and pressing it into the ground as you move your hands toward the impact position and up through an abbreviated follow through. Hopefully that description makes sense. Do you think that's a helpful exercise. I definitely struggle with the scoop move. I'm going to play with the grip as well to see if that is a factor. Thanks a bunch! Love your stuff. Would love to do an in person lesson when you come to the States! Southeast :-)

Danny, love your easy, jargon free training videos. As a 75 year old I struggle with driver length due to low clubhead speed or so I thought until seeing this vid. Though I hit generally straight drives and 70-80% in the centre of 5h3 face, I seem to be unable to keep the spin rate low and also to have a reasonable flight trajectory. I am lucky to have just installed a golf simulator at home, but I find understanding the numbers a bit bewildering; what basic numbers should I strive for in my age group and speed swing?

My driving is consistent except every now and then I will pull & sky a shot and I never could figure out what I had done - until just now. You mention in the 2nd area that it is important to slightly hold your head back and to keep it there through the swing. If one doesn't then they steepen their swing and sky the ball....so that's what I do! Thanks so muck Danny as I haven't been able to diagnose that one!

Very well explained and easy to understand. As another viewer has commented and this could be a topic for a future video, it’s remarkable to see how much club head speed you can generate with so little effort. I feel like I am swinging much faster than you but I my driver speed is 82 MPH with Trackman. My smash factor is 1.49 and I’m still very athletic. I feel like I can easily add 6 or 7 MPH but can’t figure out how you do it with what looks like your warm up swing!

Look after that back Danny, thanks for the tips as I always wondered why players with the same swing speed hit if further than me .

Great video and much appreciated. I must admit though that it's hard to believe that the last two shots registered 230 and 250 yards with so little effort.

I agree. I can't understand how anyone can hit a ball 211 yds with such a small swing only getting he ball to travel 86mph. I would love to know what spin numbers Danny got.

That’s ok, it doesn’t really matter how far I hit the ball, it’s more about how by applying the principles in the video you can add more yardage

@@larrymatrale1368 Think of it like throwing a ball 20 metres or so. You or any other adult might do it easily and somewhat effortlessly, then give that ball to a 5 year old and watch how much energy they put into it, but how little distance the ball travels because all that energy is unfocused and going in the wrong place. We are the 5 year olds and Danny is the adult.

I enjoy and watch all your videos. How do you "add snap" to your swing while reducing loft without flipping your wrists?
