This video is the most important single piece of advice a golfer can receive. I have been looking at this video throughout the years, and his swing is absolutely perfect. Everytime I see the swing I am amazed of the rithm, balance, consistency, power and PLEASURE he seems to get out of it. A true masterpiece of technic.

Really? Most great teachers, and some great players such as Nicklaus, tell you it's very destructive to try to hold angles through the swing.

@@MartialGolf Not to my knowledge. Fred Couples did have a easy swing too and he did have back issues so swinging easy is not all sunshine and rainbows.

Build the box...I love that tip. Took it to the range today and...amazing is the word. Build the box on the backswing....keep the box during the downswing. Magic!!!

Create the BOX and from the top rotate your shoulders around a stable tilted spine. Allow the club to release on it's own. It is absolutely amazing how on plane, crips and solid the shots are coming off the sweet spot.

Met Ernie at the Dominion classic in VA 2021. Said hi to him he gave me a fist bump when he was coming off the pratice putting green. He probally don't remember me. But I'll never forget it. I tell people all the time I know Ernie.lol. I'm 61 and was with my son.. My son is my witness.lol Ernie is a great guy. His golf tips have helped me tremendously. Simple and effective. I'm a 5 hcp golfer thanks to Ernie. I don't play alot any more. Can't afford to.lol Practice alot tho. Any body thats young follow Ernies instruction. You will be glad you did!

He’s got a great book called how to build a classic swing! It’s really great because he describes his feels during the entire golf swing!

So many golf instructors on KZfaq, most of them overcomplicating stuff. Here we have one of the best who just says keep the Box !! Gold dust !! Great stuff from a great player who I have been lucky enough to watch live at Wentworth.

nice little technique Ernie did there at the end when he waggled the club head over and past the ball at address to get a feel of swinging thru the ball. Nice.

One of the best tips on the net! If u do faldos pre set and then do the box drills u will be in a perfect position t0 make a good strike on the ball.

Holding the “box” during the downswing (without forcing it) may be one of the key differences between avg and good ball strikers. I don’t think holding the box (and hence keeping your right arm connected) comes natural to anyone. But once you get the concept and start developing a feel for it, everything else just falls into place during the downswing. Look at impact position of most golfers (both arms extended or chicken wing) and tour players (right arm slightly bent, connected) - Ernie tells you how to get there.

The swing thought here is "easy back, Keep the box." Seriously- I worked on it for two days this week, shot 1 over today for 12 holes with 3 birdies..... the swing is much more than just his thoughts-so this is great for experienced players.

IF YOU SHOT 1 OVER PAR FOR 12 HOLES, THEN YOURE NOT A BEGINNER GOLFER!! IT TOOK ME 5 MINUTES WHEN I APPLIED THE BOX TIP, AND I IMMEDIATLY IMPROVED MY BALL STRIKING FOR THE BEST I'VE EVER STRIKED A GOLF BALL! i GUESS SOME PEOPLE ARE LONGER THAN OTHERS TO LEARN ! NO OFFENSE HERE!LOL!

I saw this video 2 days ago...I implemented everything in this video and went out and shot 73 today. I was hitting the ball all over and boom! I watch a 2 min lite video by The Big Easy and shoot my lowest round of the year. SMH. Thanks Ernie!

Great tip that I am trying now . Just wondering if you need to flatten out the 'box' for the driver and keep it tighter for the shorter clubs ? Any ideas would be appreciated . Thanks 😀

Sorry he's a great player and I like Ernie but thinking about a box shape is just ridiculous - your swing will naturally take that form.

no it wont!!,what happens if you overswing.the left arm breaks down,you wrap the club round your neck,and theres no box,no lag,and no release!!

This works for the players who feel it. For those who can not feel this "easy back- keep the box" they have a different swing key... that's all. Not everyone can benefit from this tip. I am 47 years old- playing for 40 years- spent 4 years in the 90's teaching-but this is by far one of the finest swing thoughts I have heard for MY GAME! I am 6'4" so I typically try to emulate the likes of Kuchar and Els. Even though I just play for amusement.

That's very non descriptive. It proves he's a true natural. If you gave him a 7 iron and bag of balls when he was 7, his swing would still look like that. He has pure God given talent. Most long drive guys and hard hitters today do the opposite of some of his points. Feels aren't real apparently.
