Switchers In The Snow! Progressive Rail After A Blizzard

The day after a blizzard can be beautiful with fresh snow covering everything, and creating spectacular scenes! What makes this even better is seeing rail operations in a winter wonderland. We'll see Progressive Rails classy SW1500s working The Dan Patch Line after a heavy snowfall, and see them go about their day.
Things start over at their John Deere warehouse as they switch out cars in the early morning light. After this, they head over to Brunk Plastics to sort, and switch out a number of cars. Following this, we'll see PGR 36, and PGR 34 head to Nesbitt to interchange with the CPKC before heading back. Progressive Rail does and AMAZING job serving their customers, and keeping the spirit of the Minneapolis, Northfield, and Southern Railway alive.

I was about there and filming them switching during that snowstorm. I've got a video of them on my channel. I love watching this railroad and thos was a great video

Something about the way they work John Deere makes me want to make an Ho scale layout on that area. Absolutely love your content, I’m glad to see Progressive Rail still use SW1500s. I’m hoping to catch that RR sometime, do you know how often they run?

Thank you so very much for your kind words! :D This area would be ideal for a layout; there is so much track in a small area. This job runs Monday - Friday, and they seem to go to work in the am, likely around 7am or so.

@@SD457500 More PGR please , with drone footage of Nesbit and the CPKC exchange with the PGR would be absolutely great lol , yeah I know I don't ask for much lol .. tried to find the Nesbit yard ( exchange area ) on Google maps , where is the exact location? I would love to see it in person , but live over 1100 miles from Bloomington. SOo love this shortline.. Thanks for all your videos on this shortline.. ❤ it , from🇨🇦

@@sammym.belfastchild south of the minnesota river north of mn hwy13 between dakota ave and yosemite ave. i used to work at best buys main warehouse and appliance warehouses off 111th and 110th and nesbitt. this connects to the bnsf/up yard in shakopee to the west off us hwy 169 and mn hwy 101.

@@sammym.belfastchild cp side must pick up from the east as that line connects to the saint paul indian mounds bluff hump yard that also has another up and bnsf yard. that line also connects the switching yard in fridley for bnsf....i used to work at northern stacks at BAE also and spent alot of time watching the rail yard work before work, during lunch, and after work.
