I dont switch. I have an iPhone and Samsung. I use apps that are on both platforms like WhatsApp, AOL, Outlook, Google apps, etc. I take advantage of the benefits of each operating systems. I dont do FaceTime or Google Duo. I guest video chat isn't my thing. I take the time to optimize my usage on both iOS and Android. Most people won't take the time to learn one operating system, let alone two. But I consider myself a budget techy. Ten years ago I was Android all the way. Mainly because it was cheaper to buy an android device. But in the last few year iOS has adopted Android features and vise versa. The days of originality is fading. I'm not interested in being stuck in one ecosystem.

I switched from iphone to Android last week, and it feels so refreshing. The only smart phone I ever had was iphone. I barely use any of the apple slackware that comes by default. I never use any of the apple rental services either. The switch to Android was just too easy.

The Huawei thing is so misleading, stuff like that is why Apple users always think their OS is superior. YES, you can listen to music without your phone on most Android smart watches like those from Samsung. NO, you don't need some old-school method via PC. Jeez. I think the one thing that Apple really nails is marketing, they properly communicate what their ecosystem is capable of. If you look at the Samsung ecosystem, combining with Google (Android) and Microsoft (Windows), this ecosystem is growing a lot. The new Nearby Share is the perfect Airdrop equivalent between Android and Windows, but few people even now about it. It also has QuickShare, for even better sharing between Samsung devices, but again, I have it on my phone, but never really knew what it does until I researched it. And then many inferior Android services make it seem like things aren't as easy on Android which really isn't the case when you focus on the good things.

Most of these issues related to messaging/face time could be resolved if people in the US and Canada used WhatsApp. No more green bubble war.

This was not bashful or immaturely hurtful at all. You legitimately have the most intelligent reason for choosing one of the other when it comes to Android or Apple in a tech video.

I switched from Apple to Android! Its the best move I have ever done! Its a pain to switch and Apple certainly don't make it easy to do that. I had to run 2 phones in parallel till I finally switched everything across. But hey Apple its a scam, really. Biggest pain points for me when switching is iMessage (my inner circle is also predominantly iOS) and family reminders with built in apps. My partner won’t use 3rd party and having reminders that come up on both our phones just doesn’t work

I tried the opposite direction, latest one week on iOS before running back to Android 😂 I really tried but two things made me give up eventually. One were the missing or inconsistent swipe navigations - seriously, this is such a mess on iOS, sometimes you can swipe right to go back, sometimes it's a swipe down, sometimes you just cannot swipe at all and you have to press a back button located as far away as physically possible from your right thumb. The other reason was the keyboard. It just sucks. There is all this wasted screen real estate and you do not even get a dedicated number row. Android ist just so much easier and smoother to use, especially on larger devices.

Apple's goal is to make it hard to switch. I escape this and I make the switch back and forth easy by avoiding Apple software altogether. What's even better is that Google apps on iOS are sometimes better than they are on Android. Other than iCloud, iMessage is the only Apple software I use on my iPhone. I don't even use the Apple keyboard or Siri. I active Siri so that I can activate Google now on my iPhone. I enjoy the iPhone for what it is! It's a great phone! I am just not going to sip Apples cool aid.

Great video… some other things I’d recommend. Replace “Reminders” with “Todoist” Replace “Apple Notes” with “OneNote” For file storage, instead of “iCloud Drive” use “Google Drive” All three of these work perfectly on both iOS and Android

I've always used Android. I have the S20 FE currently. Last month I bought a refurbished iPhone 13. My sim is now in the iPhone, but I still enjoy the galaxy. I think I will continue using both phones.

I don't have any difficulty using both ios or android. I don't use iMessage and Face Time, because most of ( or all) my friends using whatsApp.

my biggest question is my music! I have over 2000 songs on my iPhone and fear if I switch to the Samsung flip I won’t be able to listen to any of it, also what I listen to in my car! is there a way to transfer the music over cuz there’s no way in he** I’d be able to buy all of those songs again?!

I don’t plan to switch from iPhone to Android anytime soon, mainly because there’s no phone as small as the 13 mini in the market and it has worked well enough for me to continue using the phone happily. But it’s good to know it’s possible to switch away from iOS if I need to do it some day.

Im in the process of wanting to switch but my issues are losing the use of my Apple Watch and losing the ability to use Apple Music on the watch without my phone connected at the gym I can see how apple tries to get you hooked on their software but at the end of the day the s23 ultra has that s pen use case I find more interesting makes the switch that much more appealing

FYI @people switching from android to apple, make sure you transfer everything including whatsapp chats using the default android to apple app before u finish setting up ud iphone or u will have to factory reset again later for that data.

I like Android, but Android lacks a community atmosphere. There's no big group of non-tech nerds saying "lets use Duo," or "We love RCS." Unless you are a tech nerd, you are not going to care to use any of these things on your Android phone. If Google comes out with a piece of software or hardware like RCS or the Pixel Watch, only tech nerds will use it. With Apple, as soon as they release a new piece of software of hardware, everyone will use it.

For work i would recommend syncthing its amazing. I do all my drawings on my tablet and sync the export for game assets. Also Don't need to pay for photos backups it sync to my computer

I want to switch from iOS to Android in order to get a Fairphone, but I’m not very techy so I’m super nervous about losing data. I have a solid 15 years worth of both work stuff and personal photos, videos, files and various other data in iCloud and I shit bricks when thinking about losing all of it, or being unable to easily access or view it from an Android phone. I know Apple tries to make it as hard as possible to switch, but if anyone has any tips or guides on how to safely and reliably move all my shit to an Android phone (I am willing to pay for extra cloud storage, as long as I have easy access to it) without losing any of it I’d be forever thankful.

Syncthing solved all airdrop and other syncing issues for me when I switched to Android. It's the best. I sync my camera, documents folder, music folder. I even use it to sync by obsidian vault and it works flawlessly.

Switching is easy if you don't use icloud basically. I can switch back to iPhone if I want too. I use Microsoft one drive for cloud storage and I save my contacts on Google.

Setting up Phone link is actually easy, especially after Microsoft updates the app. You just need to have a Microsoft account. Video call using whatsapp is also convenient. One thing I don't like about iPhone is the charging. It takes forever compared to xiaomi or oppo

By now, a lot of us already owns at least 1 Android and Apple device and manages to juggle between them for whatever convenience they offer. My daily driver is an old iPhone 6s for phone stuff and for everything else mostly media related, I use an Android tablet. With how reliable most of the cheap tier tech we're getting these days, it's not hard to get one of each given you know where to look and buy.

I’ve been tryin to use iPhone and mac for years. iPhones are decent. Battery sucks after awhile. I’m also a laggard when it comes to upgrading because of COST. I’m not on a family plan and I’m not loaded with cash. So I’m usually buying stuff a bit old like I just got the 11 pro a few months ago from the 6s. I have a 2014 MBP with maxed specs. But it gets hot. Battery sucks in both. And I can’t stand how new MBP you’ll always have to use iCloud or external HD. I don’t want that! I want to use it ON MY LAP. And not connect 35 adapters. No clue how to go from iPhone and Macy back to windows with my music and photo library. But that’s what I’m searching for. This video was not that at all. And why talk about your watch for so long?
