Just said the same to a friend. They've gone from literally nothing to a strong competitive side both at junior- and senior level in that time. Very well done and enjoyable to watch!

I'm Canadian and all I'm saying is I like to see the underdog teams kick some ass every once in a wile. Canadians are always on top, Fin's always up there. It's nice to see Switzerland win, I was rooting for latvia too.

Funniest thing is that the finns have a guy named Ruotsalainen which basically means 'swede' but written in Finnish. A bit conflicting haha 😅

Nah, Finland also lost to France 1-5 in 2017 for whatever reason. This isn't much of an upset, Switzerland has been capable recently.

The swiss play a perfect game. The way the underdogs have to play the 1-3-1 neutral zone trap to frustrate the Finns live to see them play again

Actually Finns do play that same style a LOT. Our league is just 1-3-1 trap from start to finish, dumping pucks in from red line and reversing to own half after that.

finlands international success is overrated.. their recent gold medals has been won on playing boring defensive hockey. they didnt play that in this game with this new coach, to my amazement, but them not being able to control play was apparent. i bet you they will change game plan mid-tournament and just sit back on their own blueline with zero forecheck, leeching the 60 min of any speed and skill.
