It looked like a delayed strike from this angle and because it is so quick. From other footage and personal experience, it is really a very fast thrust into a left Ochs/Ox that forces you to parry (many people also raise their hands, but this makes their defense worse). After that he leans strongly and uses his big range to do an Umschlagen with a very low and flat Oberhau from the left. Truly his signature move. Extremely hard to parry, almost impossible to counter because of the flat angle and the leaning. The weakness is that he exposes his head and is in a structurally weak position for a brief moment. This is where sometimes he keeps getting doubles to his head, while he only hits the side of the torso or the arms (a reason why I think doubles should be weighted and not only cancel each other out BTW). Using this as a strategy against him looks bad and relies on a certain ruleset and extremely good judges. So the only thing you have left to exploit is his brief structural weakness. Brief as he is very quick and will recover a failed attack in a heartbeat and is able to parry almost any blow. Another successful strategy against him was applied by the #1 ranking fencer Dennis Ljungqvist (it is also on this channel). He has a crazy effective langort thrust and applied it just when Lukas initiated his maneuver. I think very few people are able to pull that off against Lukas. Lastly, you can pressure him into not being able to launch his attack by staying in the vor. This is my analysis and 3 solutions, but I am very much interested in other viewpoints!
