democracynow.org - While Sy Hersh was working at The New York Times Washington bureau, he would watch reporters call then-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger nearly every day, diligently writing down his comments and then reproducing them as front-page news. This is one of many stories Hersh tells in his new memoir, “Reporter.” We speak with award-winning investigative journalist Sy Hersh about his many years reporting on Kissinger. He says, “What I always said about Kissinger, publicly, and again and again, is that when people … can’t sleep and they count sheep, I think Kissinger has to count burned and maimed Cambodian and Vietnamese babies the rest of his life. But, of course, he doesn’t.”

We had many Cambodian and Vietnamese students living with us in New Delhi in 1970-75, and I could see they were traumatised for life. They had escaped the bombs and napalm but knew that their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grandparents may not have escaped cruel deaths. Each carried a well of sorrow with him to their new homes in the US and France.

+fkujakedmyname Yes, but main stream media and the "resistance" are not championing and harping on about some "Russiagate" for the benefit of Trump as they are for Hillary so this little fact about war criminal Kissinger is blatant proof that most of the mainstream opposition to Trump have nothing to do with human rights and equality.

Clinton treasured Kissinger's endorsement. Her level of tone-deafness over the years has been staggering. But she still expected people to be just be "with her."

hahaha are you for real man? Have you seen any of their coverage about Venezuela or Syria recently? Or even on Russiagate? Its fucking terrible. Here is a terrorist-sympathizer/activist and MI-5 collaborator Moazzam Begg pushing for regime change on Democracy Now: www.democracynow.org/2018/4/19/moazzam_begg_on_syria_a_no He admitted on camera that he assisted Salafi rebels and met with leaders of various rebel groups fighting the Syrian government. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMl0osKjm7_Rnqs.html Shut the fuck up and research before you talk.

Abshir, Let it Burn is correct, DN's coverage of Syria has been abysmal. Here's just one example where Amy reports on "The Fall of Eastern Ghouta" to Syrian government forces, but the footage shows people elated and practically dancing in the streets at their liberation. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o5yRY7uArKrDkWg.html

Let It Burn They're not cowards just because they were wrong. It is unfortunate that they didn't check their sources better. But that doesn't mean they're permanently terrible.

Mr Hersch, people need to know how to bring this to an end. For most part people may ignore the facts and look the other way because they don't know how and what to do. Take the lead, stop writing about how bad it is and write about what little steps we could take. Like, if you can not pay for it in cash, walk away. Stop internet shopping. Unions are essential to win any battle against the union of the corporations. Everything you hear has a 99% chance of being a lie to take more from you. Please.
