I love that in ROCKY III, Rocky, the hard-hitting brawler runs into a more dangerous, harder-hitting brawler who beats him in his own style. Thereafter, Rocky must adopt Apollo Creed's fast-moving style to win back his title.

This may be controversial but I put Rocky 3 above Rocky 4. I feel like Rocky 4 rushed a few things in some points because of too many montages and a lot of things just came out of no where. However Rocky 3 sets up Clubber Lang perfectly so when you get to the last fight it’s a really satisfying ending

@@derrickstorm6976 Because he represented what Rocky used to be. Hungry and motivated. This is the fight that forces Rocky to abandon his comfortable life and return to where it all started. Plus it formed a great friendship between Creed and Rocky. Clubber was the best thing that could've happened to Rocky in a way.

Clubber Lang was very good. It seems he is in love with Hook Punches, if there is any fight I would love to see is Clubber Lang vs. Ivan Drago sure I know Drago is stronger but Clubber is faster. If these two fought, there is no doubt in my mind Clubber would be destroyed, but until the moment he is down he would have given a damn good fight. I just realized there is a parallel between Mary Ann Creed screaming "Stop the fight!!" Adrian didn't scream but she said the exact same thing when Rocky fought Clubber.

@Danna Quinn That is if Clubber would have survived more than 2 rounds. If we wanna say Apollo in his prime was a better fighter than Clubber it's hard to determined when exactly Clubber would have lost the fight. He certainly wouldn't go the distance with Ivan. And in real life if someone got hit with 2150 PSI we know what would happen. Severe brain damage if not death.

@Danna Quinn "Defense non existent" spot on. Using his head as defense and not his hands up when we are talking about a massive pressure like this is not a good idea. Good observation about the fighting heart. This is why Rocky faced Drago and not Clubber. Clubber had no heart Rocky had a ton of it. Also a motive- For the loving memory of Apollo his friend. Clubber had no friends he was a solo show. If Clubber had the same amount of heart, victory goes to him. But it wasn't the case.

This is not the sequence of the fights in the film. The one Rocky lost happened in the middle of the film when his trainer Mick was struck and instantly passed away. Apollo Creed, once Rocky's rival, ended up training Rocky for the rematch against Clubber Lang (portrayed by Mr. T) which he would win.

Rocky managed to get inside Clubbers head and drive him into a berserk rage to where he couldn't think straight until he wore himself out because Clubber style is to fight hard and fast for a quick win.

When Clubber gets all enraged after the bell and starts shouting "I'll kill you fool" whilst being restrained by his corner....LOL Well Clubber, you've just had three minutes to do precisely that....one on one...with no interruptions, but no....you've now defaulted to issuing raging threats when you should just be sitting down to try and assess what's just occurred.

@@hasheemparker3018 oh most definitely. Clubber was a force too. And not many will say it but I think Tommy Gunn and Clubber probably would have made a pretty good match up. Both sluggers who probably wouldn't last past about 5 rounds.

Don’t think he’d beat prime Apollo. Rocky beat Lang fairly easily (compared to the other film finale’s) using Apollo’s style and methods. As long as Apollo took it seriously I think he’d jab clubbers head off!

The red, white and blue shorts are from the second fight, and the yellow shorts are from the first, when he lost. The editor of this video didn’t separate them or put them in the right order for whatever reason 🤷‍♂️ Hope this helps

i like Clubber's "absorb all punches with your face"- defence. Not exactly textbook though. Seriously, I am always put off how mind-blowingly improbable these fights are. The first thing you are taught in boxing is to use gloves and forearms to protect yourself. Whoever sparred knows that your instincts tell you to protect your head. Holding your arms up but wide apart just would not happen. I know that Stallone made a deliberate decision to ignore basic boxing principles to increase the action. But this is just plain silly. But hey, he was obviously successful with it as an artistic decision.
