a personal interpretation of "Buwan" would be an expression of obsession and frustration. the beginning where the main guy (JK) is floating on his feet while flirting with his girl shows his strong romantic feelings for her. on the next part of the MV where he ties the girl on the chair would be the explicit expression of obsessiveness due to his strong romantic feelings. on the latter part where he is seen walking alone like a fool and delusional may mean that the girl he is being obsessed of is no longer available for him. all his feelings are now directed to nowhere with no one to receive them making him even more frustrated. these feelings now tie him down the same way his obsessions want to tie his partner down. supporting details to this interpretation would be his lyrics: > "Ako ngayo'y nag-iisa, sana ay tabihan na" (en: I am alone right now, hope you join me by my side.) -- this is sung so romantically that it somehow sound flirty yet if the emotions are stripped away, this may mean that he is longing for her because they are not a thing to begin with. > "Pakinggan mo ang aking sigaw sa dilaw na buwan" (en: Hear my plea to the moon above.) -- "sigaw" literally means "scream" but it can be interpreted here as "plea" or a heartfelt request that he asks from the "moon". "pleading to the moon" may be interpreted as a hopeless, wishful plea. > "Ang iyong ganda'y umaabot sa buwan. Ang tibok ng puso'y dinig sa kalawakan, at bumabalik dito sa akin. Ikaw ang mahal, ikaw lang ang mamahalin. Pakinggan ang puso, damdamin, damdamin aking damdamin." (en: Moon-reach beauty, my feelings for you echoes throughout the heavens and back. You're my only love and only one I will. Hear my heart and feel the feelings I am feeling.) -- "damdamin" in this lyrics is used two different ways, a word play, so i used "feel" three times in the translation. basically, this part is just hyperbole on his strong admiration and obsession. other than that, the gradual change in tone and attitude of his singing throughout the song also hints this interpretation. from calm and romantic that by listening to it you could imagine him smiling while singing, to almost shouting and frustrated tone in the end you could imagine him crying. thank you for coming to my TedTalk. TL;DR: the persona was obsessed, he became frustrated when his romantic interest became unavailable; to visually metaphorically express the feeling: the girl representing his obsession and admiration ties him up on a chair to mean he became prisoner of his very own obsession.
