IDK if anyone else has said this, but the KEY to BACKSTABS is that you must have your shield lowered. The physical window is actually very forgiving- often it will fire off at the side of an enemy. But only if your shield is lowered.

I always love seeing people's reaction to Frampt appearing. It's such an unexpected jumpscare to suddenly see him there.

Ahh the mimic, always so funny seeing people’s first reaction to them. There’s a couple of ways to tell a mimic from a regular chest though, to not get chomped again. First, if you look carefully, you can actually see it breathing very gently if you get your camera close. Secondly, the chain from the chest on the right side (right side as you are looking at the front of the chest) is a major tell. If the chain is curled in a loop, it’s a normal chest. If it’s pointed out at you in a line (again assuming you’re looking at the front of it head-on) then it’s a mimic.

The slow walk away at 13:52 after seeing Frampt was priceless. NOPE!

The number of times that Amber correctly guesses things or predicts stuff is remarkable, phenomenal instincts!

Now that you gave Andre the Large Ember, you can upgrade regular weapons up to +10. Special weapons like your sword that upgrades with twinklings or demon titanites only go up to +5 though. P.D: There is another amazing chest waiting for you in Anor Londo, most would argue it is the best chest.

Wow, I've never seen anyone go through Sen's Fortress so thoroughly before, you even beat all the titanite demons (It took me ages to beat Sen's Fortress, and ages to go back and beat the Titanite demons)

A tip for Frampt food - feeding him items is usually a bad idea unless you know you don't need them, but feeding him titanite is a different story. Feeding him titanite breaks it down into smaller denominations (a slab becomes 3 chunks, a chunk becomes 3 large shards, a large shard becomes 3 small shards, and all colored chunks break down into green shards and then small shards in the same quantity ratio). It's useful if you have a lot of chunks of the wrong color (i.e. you want to upgrade a fire weapon and have a lot of blue or white chunks) to get green shards. Keep in mind that large upgrade material denominations are useless to you until you finish upgrade a weapon to some multiple of 5 using smaller ones. I wouldn't advise feeding slabs to Frampt as they are incredibly rare and painful to acquire, but feeding him chunks can be quite useful.

Hey Amber, I think it's worth mentioning that you can change the UI scale in the menu in this game. It's MUCH nicer to not have the 4 items in the bottom left taking 1/8 of the screen! I say this because I did my entire first and second playthrough without doing it, and then only learned later that this was one of the remastered's QOL features!

Another amazingly satisfying ep. Your observation skills are incredible, but you intuition is GODLY. Boosting your fire defense right before 57:46 saved you! You had a sliver of health left after that hilarious sequence. ".......ʸᵒᵘ ᶠᵘᶜᵏᵉʳˢ" 😂😂

36:08 There seem to be various trigger areas in the hallways. When you pass through them, the ball mechanism swivels to a given direction. There's a sound that accompanies the movement, so if youre observant, you can hear ehen the direction changes.

Ahh, I remember my first mimic chest. There's a trick to tell if safe; ever chest has a chain on the right if its coiling to the back it's safe if it's coming forward its a mimic. Also the game won't tell you this but head back to the fire link shrine go on the elevator and roll off on the upper platform, run and jump across the gap to get to the second level on the broken church climb the tower you find a birds nest curl up into a ball and wait you find something important that you should do before you touch the good ring that appeared after you beat the Iron golem. You did awesome in Sen's Fortress

First if youre committed to a tanky build, you should kill that heavily armored guy in the watchtower basement. Also theres more secrets to find in firelink shrine via the ledge by the elevator from last episode.

Wow, what a thorough exploration of Sen's Funhouse! FromSoft's level design is unmatched.

The progression from Blighttown to Sen is a classic. First the betrayal at Firelink, then the WTF is that snake thing, then going into the fortress and enjoying its facilities and friendly staff, and then finally coming across that welcome bonfire. Bonus points for properly exploring, I've been around that place hundreds of times and I don't think I've ever tried jumping down that chute, but I've reached the slumbering dragoncrest ring in other ways. I think there's only a few more annoying titanite demons to fight but otherwise you aced it first try.

"I'm so happy to be home!" 10 seconds later... "I'm so sad to be home..." 1 minute later, at the bonfire: "I'm so angry to be home!" Dark Souls working as intended.

Iron Golem's final, competing thoughts: "I really hope nobody saw this!" and "Who is this woman to humble me so?"

If you look at the chest closely you can notice a few differences between mimics and normal chests (hint: check the chain attached to the chest)

You are a very good player, you understand the game and try to find out the purpose of everything. It's great.

Its fun watching someone play this blind for the first time. You're not missing much in your progress through the game either, which is surprising/impressive given how obtuse this game is. Lautrec (the suspicious guy with the gold armour who was hanging around outside the Firekeeper at Firelink) is the guy who killed the Firekeeper. The orb you picked up will tell you when you're in the right location to invade his world once you get to the right place in Anor Londo. There are also some other Firekeepers in the game you could give the firekeeper soul to to upgrade your Estus. You missed one of them near Quelaag, you'll likely run into the other one in Anor Londo.

In case you don't want any info regarding the game's mechanics and want to figure it out yourself, I added a bit of a gap so you can skip past the rest of this without reading it. The way the parrying mechanics work in this game is twofold: You can only parry enemies that are either human-size, or one size larger (Black Knights, the swamp ogres, and the man-serpents, etc), and in order to get the riposte off, you have to be at around the same height as the thing you're trying to parry. If you're at a different enough height from the target, the game won't recognize that you're going for a riposte (or Backstab, in the case of around 50:00), and will just do a regular swing.

You not only went through sens fortress and smashed it but, you enjoyed it all too. I hated that place first time and every other time I went through it. Great job.

Your playthrough of DarkSouls is one of the best watching experiences i ever had. The combination of skill, talent is only surpassed by the great route you are going for provided by your ever present curiousness and alertness. I am not kidding. The amount of times you found, understood, overcame hurdles because you watched, listened, thought about stuff... maaaan! Just great. I mean, obviously you are experienced from bloodbourne. Nontheless, i find myself ashamed, compared to my own first playthrough all those years back. Also i am so glad you found the great hollow. that was my personal first WTH-moment with fromsoft games. can't wait to follow you along the rest of the way.

At the beginning of the game by the firelink shrine well I saw a message that said "Let there be light" with Frampt's face (some kind of stat makes your message icon change). I had no idea what the face was but that message shook me to my core.

The ball trap's occasional automatic realignment is kind of a weird design choice. I'm not sure I like it, because while all the other traps in Sen's Fortress make complete logical sense, the ball trap just sort of magically knows when you go past a certain point in the level and realigns itself without anyone there to operate it and without you stepping on any plates or triggers. It just happens on its own when you go through a certain room. (The one with a wooden table, some chairs and a snake dude in it.) Really enjoying the playthrough, well done on such a thorough first time clear of Sen's Fortress. That's really impressive!
