Would there be a difference in measurement of the syncrho clearance while installed and uninstalled from the shaft? I need to do this to my car and would love it if I didn't have to remove the synchro on my constant mesh transmission just to measure the wear clearance. Thank you.

You can measure clearance while assembled.
