Glad I was able to get this out before the turn of the new year! Samurai won the last community poll, so next up is Bard/Monk. I'm really happy to be getting back into the swing of things, and hope to see you all again next year!

I refuse to believe that that prologue story isn't about a younger Master Mosusai

As a Samurai main I appreciate the care and respect you gave to my job. I would love to hear a lecture on hingashi as a whole or the era of blood in more detail.

Learning how iaijutsu works made me realize that a garlean samurai with a jetstream sam sheathe to launch the sword could be lore possible

When you said “getsu” and “ka” I immediately filled in the last blank with ‘tensho’

And yet many samurai still fell into at the very least a bit of panic, when you accidentally use the same sen combo and you immediately Hagakure to remedy said mistake LOL

Man, the amount of passion and care you pour into these videos is astounding. I wholeheartedly believe you deserve to have many, many more subs. There just isn’t another channel diving into the lore of XIV like you do. I put most of your videos into a playlist and listen while I work. Makes the day so much better. Keep up the great work!

The most powerful moment of the entire samurai storyline for me, was mosusais final moments. The warrior of light, unaware of the meaning behind the excission of the evil within, judged the sins of their master, cutting away the guilt and giving the old swordsman honorable peace.

Love how Samurai are more artful spellblades like those of other settings! Would love to see a new XIV exclusive spellcaster that takes from the same school of thought that gave birth to Samurai and Ninjas!

My favorite part of the samurai job quest is when the master is talking about our refined honorable sacred katanas, and then I pull out my ironworks katana that spins and whirs like a toy when I unsheathe it.

Everyone’s talking about how redmage is the only spellblade job.

Interesting to see all the subtle ways that this job's lore took inspiration from the history of real world samurai of Japan; from their roots as military vassals to the way in which their preferred fighting style shifted from large-scale combat to a more "indoor-friendly" practice, with a focus on promoting both disciplinary and spiritual growth whilst upholding peace with minimal casualties

This is certainly helpful when it comes to deciding what job to main!

I love your videos, Synodic Scribe! I've been trying to design FF classes for a lite tabletop system with friends, and honestly couldn't possibly manage without your videos. (I struggled a lot with Sage lmao) The way you capture the history and flavour of the classes while outlining exactly how they function not only in combat but in day-to-day life is incredible. You're doing a service to roleplayers and lore aficionados alike, and your work is always great quality.

Now that my second favorite class is done. I wait for my main class Monk to be researched and explained.

Been waiting for this. The nature of this discipline has, for a while, been something I've been wondering about.
