Thank you very much for this explanation. I got my MRI today but received only the actual images on paper. My Ortho appointment is in three days, and I wanted to be able to assess my own 'damage' before then. Your tutorial really helped understanding how to interpret what I'm looking at. Although I can't really concretely see which ligaments are torn, I was at least able to locate the important ones. I have a lot of bright white, clear and some fuzzy areas, which I'm not sure how to interpret since I still have some swelling and wondered if these white areas can be an indication of that. Amazing how you didn't get tongue tied with the different terms! I look forward to your other videos!

A really excellent resource - it complements my Atlas of Imaging in Sports Medicine by Australian authors which has some great examples of pathology. You just can't beat a dynamic run through of what normal looks like and how to approach the images systematically. This is very teacher dependent in my sports medicine training, but your video makes me more confident that I can independently come to some sensible conclusions about images before looking at the radiologist's report. If I've ordered it, I should be able to interpret it!

Dear Chris Greetings from Scotland. Well done and very nicely described pitches at a level that an Orthopod like me with an OX Brain can even understand and follow the whole 32 minutes without falling asleep. Hats off. I am just worried about my radiologist now in MDT. He may get a MI, LOL , Dr Turab Syed aka Dr Jaffery

Hi and good day to you sir!. I have a question. What type of image u chose for identification of pathology in the ankle? Is it T1 or T2 or PD? Im pretty confused on which is the one i should start with.

Use fat sat to find abnormal bone marrow edema. Look at axial T2 to assess ATFL. Sagittal to look at Achilles’ tendon. Coronal T2 and fat sat for talabat dome, osteochondral lesions. Look at abnormal fluid around tendons.
