The most striking thing about how Gordon Murray creates a car is that he mostly applies new technology into building and designing the car, rather than into the car itself. By which I mean the tech is about improving the fundamentals like low weight, chassis rigidity, engine sound -- it's not about throwing in techy features that are either irrelevant or anathema to the driving experience. The one arguable exception is the fan on the T.50, but even that has a method behind the madness because it allowed him to make just enough downforce to forgo a bunch of ugly aero, yet not so much downforce that the car would be uncomfortably sprung.

Fantastic point made there . He will use the latest pots and pans when creating his perfect dish , but will never _ever_ be caught serving 'impossible' meat or soybean meat substitutes . Heh . What a guy - thank God there is at least one of him out there still sticking to his guns and sticking to what has proven to be correct rather than getting swept away with silly fads , trinkets or this preposterous ideological near religious zealotry of 'progressive' battery only vehicles that draw power from coal plants , catch on fire on hot days when driven hard and take weeks to be extinguished and have their charging cables cut off and stolen by copper thieves .. lol . The human zeitgeist does tend to go mad every once in a while with whatever the latest trend or fashion happens to be but always swings back into reality eventually . No doubt in the future we will be driving incredible hydrogen fuel cell powered V-12 works of engineering art with electric motor assist but only once technology has progressed enough to make sense to do so .. Unlike today . Today it is wasteful , at times even dangerous but _always_ mostly for fashion no different than wearing some enviro greeny logo on a T-Shirt .

$2.35M, £1.8M for an unremarkable looking car inside and out. The package is purposely simple and light, but nothing outstanding. As for power, I'll take displacement and low end torque over 11,000 rpm any day. Wrong car, wrong price, GMA heading for GM-Administration.
@richardharrold9736
@richardharrold9736 Жыл бұрын
@@stephenc6955 GMA could sell every single one they make three times over. The torque this V12 makes is enormous anyway, and the torque curve is astoundingly flat - and the torque to weight ratio is incredibly high. It would make absolute mincemeat of a 6.2 litre supercharged Corvette on any road or track. The fact that it is so light and so capable is what makes it such a compelling package. It's a very understated car, and TINY! But it's got a real clean look, and I actually like the T33's fenders a bit more than the T50's.

Gordon's compliments on the Alpine A110 may give some hope to buy a good driver car for people with noninsane amount of money.

The t33 Spyder might be the best looking of the group. Echoes of 60's Alfa, Abarth, De Tomaso , and maybe even the recent Dallara. Small, simple, unfussy. Very classy.

T50 is impressive but not really pretty. T33 is a truly beautiful car. Like supercars were in the 60's and 70's.

I watched multiple vloggers postings’ on the same car, the technicalities and details Gordon share with Harry are at very different level… A huge testimony on the subject matter expertise of Harry, and the respect Gordon is exhibiting towards him ❤

I actually like how it looks a bit stealthy. The car looks like something Lotus might have made, and might cost $120-150k... as opposed to millions.

Well Gordon says his standard for the best riding and handling cars were the Lotus Evora and the Alpine A110. The Evora and now the Emira are bargain supercars in every way. The Alpine is good too but it's a 4-cylinder.

Yes… and it wouldnt have an 11000 rpm 600 hp v12, also the lotus emira for 80k weighs 1000lbs more with a lighter v6 engine, thats why it costs millions.

Gordon needs the big ticket price to cover his start up expenses. And like many things these days, the higher the price the higher the demand.

I love both, but don’t like the T-50 as much. Too F1 like and don’t like the fan. I love the T-33 1960’s-ish vibe. If I was stupid rich, would love to have this driver’s car and put a ton of miles on it. It’s made for driving, not sitting in a museum.
