You're videos are an absolute goldmine. Thank you for the clarity of your videos - most educational music content is so overly bloated

That's so cool. I just made my first multichannel drum recording. And now after watching this I'll make a template like this for future recording projects so I can directly mix it later in this document. I'm already quite happy with the kick sound. Have to work on the rest 🤘

You keep mentioning your autoload video tutorial but I don’t see it on your channel? Is it on another channel?

No, it will be released this week - truth be told, part 1 is done and ready for upload but it is just an overview - I did parts 2 and 3 (the most critical parts) but they were both marred with technical issues so I will be reshooting those today - then there will be the fine tuning videos which will number 3-4 more parts. My hope is to have them all complete and uploaded by the end of the weekend. Thanks for your patience in this! I aim to make these right, and sometimes that requires reshoots or reorganization - and at the same time I've been slammed with work... So - THEY ARE COMING!

I'd like to know how you have two mixers up with different tracks in - is it just panning? Sorry, I use PC for everything and Mac only for music
@7thLETTERbeats
@7thLETTERbeats 8 ай бұрын
You can open a mixer window with command 2. Do that twice. Then you can hit the little menu on the mixer to filter what tracks you want to hide or display on each mixer window. When mixing you can press X to bring up the mixer at any time and filter what you see in there. But if you have a second monitor, sometimes it is better to pop out a mixer window so you can have your mixer on a different screen than your workspace.

YES! @7thLETTERbeats is 100% correct on this! This will also be showcased on my AutoLoad videos soon to be released.

Where you suggest the fader levels be set initially? I noticed that the busses in this video are set to -12, but in the autoload series I believe they were set at 0 unless I missed something.
@GGabrielMusic
@GGabrielMusic 5 күн бұрын
I set all my busses to -12. If you set them at zero, you'd blow up the stereo out. When I have a very full mix, some of my busses may end up at -18 or even lower. Thanks for the question!!
@jackk100
@jackk100 8 ай бұрын
Great vid, thanks! Do you ever use 2 additional busses to group “Instruments” and “Vocals”, to make it easier to bounce those out separately or with different mixes (vocals down, vocals up) later? Do you ever setup audio tracks to record your main busses to, so you can record them all to audio as stems in one play-through?
@GGabrielMusic
@GGabrielMusic 8 ай бұрын
Thanks!! First question answer: Typically I keep all my vocal tracks in one area and just mute them if I need an instrumental mix. And when doing songs for episodic where I have to send the individual parts for the characters to sing on, I just solo those tracks in the bounce. Second question answer: No, sometimes the stems have multiple busses associated with them and when I stem I color code all the tracks or regions that are being stemmed together in case there is a revision or something and I need to re-stem them at a later date. I could probably be more efficient in my stem process, but the additional work/time it would take to set up ideal stem scenarios would probably add time, not save time to my stemming process. That said, you've inspired me to look into it! Thanks for your questions!

Hey Gabriel just want to say thank you for taking the time out and educating us on how to use these Daw properly. 🙏🏾 questionhow do u create a side chain with the correct routing. And I still haven't figured how to autoload .. and can I do a donation ?
@GGabrielMusic
@GGabrielMusic 8 ай бұрын
I will have to do a video on how to properly side chain as there are several ways to achieve side-chaining. But I'm thinking of doing a live Q & A in the near future where I can answer questions like this. (Do you like that idea?) And, my AutoLoad videos will be released this week so stay tuned! I appreciate your thankful comment!

So if I had a track with an effect on it, I should rather put the effect on the fx bus than on the regular track?
@GGabrielMusic
@GGabrielMusic 4 ай бұрын
It depends what the effect is. If it is reverb or delay, then yes. If it is a modulation, distortion, EQ, or something that only pertains to that one track (other than reverb or delay), then you can use the effect. The idea is to not have so many unnecessary effects on your tracks. Hope this helps! Thanks for your question! Also, see the T.A.B.S. part 2 - it explains all the effects.

Hey George, are you saying that you’re also routing your auxes to their respective busses? Like does it go Drum>room rev aux>drum bus>stereo out or Drum>room rev (as an aux)>stereo out and then Drum channel output is set to the Drum bus? I hope that makes sense. Thanks for the vid!
@GGabrielMusic
@GGabrielMusic 8 ай бұрын
It's routed like this: Drums>Drum Bus>Stereo Out then when you want to add reverb on the drums: Drums>Send to Aux FX1::Aux FX1>FX Rtn Bus>Stereo Out - this will all be in the AutoLoad videos releasing this weekend
