This game was a reminder of an excellent core part of the 40k Tabletop for me: Tycho will always be amazing, supportive, and a good sport, even when he's losing. Reminding Nick of his remaining shots on Turn 1 was peak, and Nick is always amazingly nice as well, so this match was a joy to watch, even if Chaos got slaughtered.

It’s one of the creature Caster models, they’re demon range is amazing and I highly recommend grabbing some of you like chaos and are experienced in building detailed models (forge world quality).

I can imagine the storyline behind that Volcano Lance taking out the Broadsides instead of the Stormsurge is that the T'au commander intercepted a Chaos communication that informed them that the Chaos Knight was about to target the Stormsurge, so they commanded the Broadsides to send a purposefully poorly-encrypted vox message talking about how their battle suits were hardened against Imperial weapons, so there's no way that a bunch of cultists using old Imperial equipment could harm them, in a (successful) attempt to anger the commander of the Chaos Knight and cause them to make a tactical error and save the Stormsurge while sacrificing the Broadsides for the Greater Good.

This reminds me of when I played Tau into my buddy's orks and I demolished his Gargantuan Squiggoth with two hammerhead gunships and blew up most of his other vehicles with my Superiority Armor and battle suits. Tau are scary turn 1 if you can't hide behind terrain

Play OnTableTop Retail Patch Notes Dec.10, 2023 TYCHO - Now has space Marine Steve dice rolls. Developer Comment: We feel that Tycho, Child of Chaos has been over performing at the higher ranks. In an effort to bring his win rate more into line with the other characters, we've decided to apply a nerf to his dice rolls rather than lowering his overall generalship stats. As a knock on effect, this should also make his matches more entertaining for spectators. If the nerf ends up being too harsh, we will consider a partial reversal.

Havent watched it all yet but Tychos mistaken a bit on how dark pacts work. Being Tzeentch doesnt mean you can take lethal hits. You can already take lethal hits regardless of the mark of chaos you have. But Tzeentch gets to crit on 5+ when shooting with a lethal hits pact.

Awesome battle report, played in the perfect spirit. Nice to see Nick play a more focussed rather than purely fluffy list. He played it perfectly. A few small cheap sacrificial to lure the chaos in and then a nasty counter strike. May have to tone it back down a bit for the next report :) It was great to watch as my list is similar to Nick's, I have 3 tanks rather than the storm surge and 2 piranha rather than the 2 stealth suit units, so tactics should easily be transferable.

Would love to see thyco or mobin play a rainbow deamon list, To make a story on it they untied because VASHTORR gotten to powerful in the warp. On my wishlist for tau codex is a complete rework of for the greater good. It is so confusing having to track guided and spotters and targets and making sure that you shoot in the correct order so you don't accidentally prevent yourself from buffing an important unit.

Crisis suits with ion blasters or, suicide suits. Are always viable if you can effectively get to a target. However 30" range ap 2 dead 2 is very nice

I think you missed the broadsides 1 devastating wound turn 2 against the titan. It was really quick but I think you got a 6 on the wound roll so he wouldn't have been able to save.
