This season is called OG for a reason. I love the simplicity. Id be more annoyed if all the perks of previous chapters were intertwined.

I'm a newer player, only started playing with my son like a year ago, but I'm absolutely loving this season. It definitely took some getting use to. It feels a lot more tactical and skill based to me.

You didn’t mention that fortnite decided to revert the heavy shotgun to its original icon. The interesting thing is that even though there are 2 separate versions (og and chapter 3 version) they both had the updated icon and models until this season started. Just look, they even brought back the scope!

For me this season is perfect because the old map has returned. That was the only thing i wanted in fortnite to play fortnite like in the old days. The mobility isn't a problem i mean we have rifts and in my opinion they are the best mobility. And i didn't even noticed they removed med mist and the other features.

I hated the augments. Just got in the way. If I had an option to turn them off I would. They had them set to two buttons...and one of those was the emote button! Why couldn't they just use right on d pad...instead of down too!?

People will literally complain about anything ffs.. like just be happy they are atleast letting us play the OG maps for the short amount of time before we go back to the clusterfest of unbalanced OP gear for whatever collab event they decide to do.

This season is just perfect man, the only thing I hope happens is that they change the og weapons into how they are now in creative, because the FAMAS has the sound of its three shot version, but still holds 20 in the mag and shoots 2 round burst, and yet also has the damage of its current self, also the pump still does 185 in creative instead of the 209 it does now

They should have increases the max mats count back to 999. Especially since vending machines once again use mats as currency

I am so grateful they brought back the map either way. Waking up before school just to play a little bit of the new season was always awesome, and I remember playing with my friends after school. Having the memories back is good enough for me.

I love the old map, but I feel like unless you drop by yourself you aren't going to find any decent heals at all. The shield meds don't scale properly with your party size and its really sad.

Every single thing he talked about Fortnite changed features is amazing I love how simple the game is now I don't think they should ever bring any of the removed features

6:10 there was a quest where you had to visit different ice cream trucks around the map in 1 match in season 3 but people kept destroying them so epic made them basically unbreakable

I'm completely fine with everything else (even though I just instinctively tried breaking beds and couches for gold on Friday), but Epic has the OG weapon modles on hand mainly thanks to STW, but they decides to use the modern versions instead (The burst feels a bit weird being a grey colored FAMAS for all rarities instead of being the OG ones + a Black(?) FAMAS for Epic & Legendary... and the shotguns feel less appealing to being in this map, Tactical is probably the least overwhelming modle for C1, Pump is more slim instead of the thick version we love and think of when thinking chapter 1, and the Heavy Shotgun feels weird without the scope on it and resembles it's slug version too much despite it not using slugs in the OG version)

Honestly i want the og map to stay but you can only daydream about that

Fun fact: fortnite teased stranger things in the whole of chapter 4. There was a house south west of the map with an upside down clock face. It was a grandfather clock btw. It got deleted during season 4 because of the new poi’s.

The reason why the police cars were removed was due to the George floyd incident and people found it offense in some way so epic removed them to avoid the whole controversy

this fortnite season is pretty good besides the sweat players but at least they brought back the boggie bomb to put them back in there seat

For anyone who hasn't gotten the hint, THE NEW SEASON IS SUPPOSED TO BE DIFFERENT. This is because the time machine changed some things.

I can forgive the errors on the map when it comes to set pieces cause 5 bucks says epic doesn't have the original map's data any more and had to re-make the entire chapter 1 map using photos and video of it and even if they did have the data epic would of had to rebuild the OG island from scratch anyways in the new engine so expect more errors over the next few weeks.

My canon to why the OG map isn't exactly OG is because of the time machine. I mean something broke in the time machine, so why not also so.ething breaking the timeline.

I was expecting more from the chapter 1 map especially most of the stuff you mentioned

This season is perfect. Couple mobility items, couple healing items, there was just too much in the game to the point where you could get into fights or get jumped, and even if they counter you jumping them, or you didnt want to fight, you could just instantly fly away. No tactics were involved in the game anymore, it was just about what movement item you had. This loot pool is perfect. People can rift, impulse, or grapple but the odfs of someone having it isnt as casual as it has been the past 10 seasons. And thank them so much for getting rid of those op augments and the gold bars, so much was op its so much better the way it is now.

Im personally satisfied with what they brought back, only thing that is a pet peeve of mine is the OG pump isn't back to its old Variant, but its fine, its back and im happy about it

Listen I get all of these issues but let’s just be happy we got the map back I mean who cares yeah I miss all that stuff but I also miss the original map more

I started playing on chapter 3 season 4 finale then jump into the next chapter and I can tell that playing for the first time this map, It feels really balanced. Shield is too limited and the playability feels less rush. And I can say it feels really good. I can see why a lot of people wanted the old days and they should keep it like that

This feels like when Pizza Hut changed their logo back to an old one when their food was decent in hopes of more profit from nostalgia, and just for that, I refuse to play just because I can practically smell the greed coming from Epic.

Ok so fornite lied by returning og fornite and removing the mechanics that aren't in og fornite

Several of these changes are genuinely annoying, Epic shadow-patching the buildings is especially annoying, They did nothing to break the game or ruin the experience, They were just there and they were good. Another thing is Epic's lack of care for certain elements where they do have the files, For example, The new Item Shop screen isn't even using the original background that it had in Chapter 1 despite the fact that this background exists in STW, Private servers and version archives exist too with the files inside to do so, And as many have pointed out, The lack of OG models returning such as the low rarity Burst AR model.

I have a theory that the story will go in the direction of time travel screwing up various things starting with small details, and eventually ramping up to almost killing the island, causing something like the black hole event yet again.

Some people say we are in a different timeline, which can explain why the map feels off

Im not gonna lie, but beside the nostalgia, I’m in love with the og season and I hope it stays like this for a long time because I know that if it’s gonna change I’m not returning again to Fortnite, I returned only for this og season and to be honest it’s amazing EVERYTHING IS BETTER no sweaty pro players no toxic people it’s just fun again I’m happy for the first time in a multiplayer game !!

It’s good, just like the old days, I love it this way, maybe newer players find it odd or not as flashy, but the og’s love it

one of the only things from chapter 3-4 that stayed in season OG was the port a bunker, which is weird because those never existed in chapter 1

This season is my favorite ever, the og map is back, no fishing, no wildlife, no jungle, nice beautiful open land, no worrying about gold or npcs, the only con about this season is that shields are very hard to find, other than that my favorite season ever

I’ve been playing this game since November 2017 and I can say that compared to the the C2 and C3 maps, this is worse, but it’s still better than C4’s map. Can’t wait for the new chapter 5 map. It’s fun to play on it again for sure but it’s not up to the games standards anymore imo.

The swimming one, makes sense, in the OG fornite you were never able to swim, its no mans land

They should have brought back the 999 mats cap, with mantling, grapplers, sliding, and sprinting, the map feels too open to have your materials capped at half what they used to be

The scar has the chap.2 textures this also goes for the burst, hunting rifle and the old AR sound is also gone also they didnt bring back the drum gun

They should make this a seperate game mode like you can select what season and chapter

Simplicity is key, I didnt really play Fortnite much in chapter 1 and didnt really start playing until chapter 2 which I absolutely loved until C2 S5 then it just became way too much to keep up with and I really disliked how many things theres were to do because it just felt overwhelming. Now it just feels like a great game to jump into just to have fun and mess around in.

I loved landing at the modern house of Snobby, but my favorite one in the whole game was the blue one next to it. Now, it looks like Kado told past me to replace the house myself.

It would make sense that we’re in another timeline because of the Time Machine. Since their many things different about the map we’re in, such as the barn in fatal field where we have two instead of one. The ‘Trump Tower’ was replaced by a no sweat insurance building. Two mountains being connecting by a bridge in Paradise Palms isn’t there anymore and now are just mountains.

I give this season a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. The map is old-fashioned, the graphics look like a bad creative map. The weapons are reasonably ok. The match making doesn't work at all, there are far too many good players in my matches. The OG season will go down as a scary experience in my Fortnite memory under the heading: Fortnite meets shortage management. It lacks everything: decent graphics, fun, healing and shields, fun, swimming, fun, mobility, fun, ammo, good loot spots, fun. You can tell this map hasn't been reworked for NB. What scares me the most: the vast majority of my playmates don't want to play the OG season, even those who started playing Fortnite during the OG period. Streamers I watch regularly are unhappy and don't want to have to play the OG season. Among the viewers, there are 1/3 who are hyped and happy, 1/3 who don't care, and 1/3 who are frustrated and unhappy. Currently the numbers are right, Fortnite is reporting records. That's good. It remains to be seen whether this OG season will be financially worthwhile for Epic and whether the playerbase will have grown or shrunk after this season.

Nearly everything that was added after chapter 1 i hated and stoped playing around cp2 S3! Im loving the nostalgia of the og season and would love for it to stay as a playlist!

I have to say, my favourite season was season 8. My favourite chapter was the first one. At this point, I would only play fortnite if they kept the original map.

I think that early chapter 2 is arguably the best era of fortnite when you combine the pieces of chapter 1 like the guns and such with the fresh new game mechanics and graphics

As someone who played from season 2-10 I enjoy all the og stuff and that they got rid of all of the dumb stuff they’ve added over the year
