One correction big temple or rajarajeswaram (original name), was never in the wonders of the world list. But in year 1986 it was acknowledged as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Along with this a few more temples built by the cholas in and around thanjavur where given a similar status. You can find this in the title "The Great Chola Living Temples" - courtesy UNESCO

My native is tiruvarur but am in Chennai from my birth.. I have been into my native several tyms but missed visiting this temple. Recently went got shocked on this majestic architecture.. Extraordinary no words to explain i got tears when i enter into braharam the vibe is incredible

Jayam Ravi playing Raja Raja Chozhan is not right. Raja Raja Chonzhan oru thamizhan. Thamizharagal iyarkaiya karum niram kondavanga. Vellaiya irukavangala valaru thantha oru mamanar ah nadaika vaikarathu Thamizhargal ku panra oru perum throgam. change it. Raja Raja Chozan is a Tamilian. Ancient Tamils were not white skinned people. I asking people to not distort history again. Namma paakarathu than namma mansula nikkum. You see a white fair skinned man playing Raja Raja Chozhan- it gives an idea that the great king was infact fair skinned which is highly unlikely considering history of migration of people with less melatonin level in their skin. Ithu vaaraikum Thamizh oda varalara thappu thappu ezhudhanathu pothum.
