Right! I wonder if he may watch videos about food lovers or masterchefs, describing food in every detail and not only the taste, also like "feelings" while eating because I love how he describes what you feel, it's on another level now. Thank you Satoshi for all your effort and I would love to learn more japanese expressions too ^^/

From my experience (limited, as it may be), many Japanese have learned English pretty well, but feel embarrassed to speak it if they don't feel they can do it well enough.

its a chain but i love hakata furyu ramen!! its in tokyo and its soo delicious. creamy tonkotsu with garlic oil, ajitama, and lots of green onion. i always add the extra minced garlic thats on every table, and i like to add some of the savory extract as well to give it a big umami kick! this is my perfect bowl.

Another great video guys. I've been enjoying your work for a while now and I took a lot of your advice for my recent month long stay in Tokyo over the New Year break. I was really happy to see Tatsunoya in your list of the best Ramen in Tokyo. I was staying in Okubo so Tatsunoya was conveniently on my regular 15 minute walk home from Shinjuku. I followed the classic rule that if there is a line up, they must be doing something right. It quickly became my favorite noodle shop for my trip. There was something very comforting about the flavour of the soup that kept me coming back even though there are so many other places in Shinjuku. I'm glad to see that it's not just me that feels this way about it. But I do have to say that I liked their Tsukemen even more than their Tonkotsu Ramen. Stay safe and be well.

The best ramen I have ever had was the tori paitan from Menya Syo in Shinjuku! The chicken flavour of the broth is SO concentrated and just insanely hearty and delicious. I don't normally like revisiting restaurants when I'm travelling because I want to try a new restaurant and have a new experience every meal, but I will absolutely go back for that bowl of ramen many times when I go back to Japan!

I’m lucky to live in an area with a lot of Japanese so I have some great ramen restaurants around. Umenoya, Mendoki, Tsujita to name a few but none of which stack up to the likes you’ll find out there! I recently had an opportunity to try the tsukemen from Tomita but unfortunately it was the one in Narita airport. Still, it was by far and away my favorite tsukemen I have eaten to date! Can’t wait to go on more ramen adventures in Japan in the near future and these 5 are absolutely on my list. Thank you!

The best ramen I've had in Albuquerque, where I live now, is at a small pan-Asian restaurant called Fun Noodle Bar; they do noodle soups from across Asia, and all their noodles are hand pulled or hand sliced. They have excellent soups and appetizers as well.

My favourite ramen place isn't even on google maps but it's a really small place off main street in Tsuyama-shi out in like the more commercial area east. It's specialty is Tonkotsu and they have a special spicy one served in a red bowl that is heavenly, the only bad thing is it's soo good I end up eating it super fast and then it's gone...

I will have to try all of these when I return to Tokyo. But for me, the most mindblowing ramen in Tokyo is from Men Mitsuwi (麺 みつヰ) in Asakusa. I tried a lot of ramen (and I mean a LOT) during a long trip to Japan, but this place just has the most perfectly balanced flavor I have ever experienced. I had to return three times to try everything. This was the place that finally showed me how good shoyu ramen can truly be, and their ginger bowl is so delicate and refreshing. The kicker is the chef's unique broad and wavy noodles, you simply MUST choose those when visiting.

Wow! I wish I had known of you guys before I visited Tokyo a few years ago. I found Afuri Ramen one day walking the streets in Shinjuku. We spent 10 days in Tokyo, and we'd eat all types of different food, then around 9-10pm, I'd still want to have a bowl at Afuri...Tokyo station, Shinjuku, whichever we were closer to...I imagine we ate "2nd dinner" or "2nd lunch" there perhaps 7 out of 10 days!

Great vid guys. I need to stop watching Ramen vids, makes me so hungry for it. When I was little I had no access to any places that served Ramen so I would experiment putting different things in those boil and eat dried ramen noodles like canned veg or veg beef soup, cut up left over pork or beef and other various left over vegetables. I had no chopsticks so I used two of my un-sharpened colored pencils heeheehee.
