-Nuchigafu
This is where we had breakfast and is where you should go to at least once. Housed in a former radio station after World War 2, this traditional Okinawan house is beautifully preserved. They have two selections for breakfast both priced at ¥1000 each and comes with a choice of drink.
1 Chome-28-32 Tsuboya, Naha, Okinawa 902-0065
-Cafe Dokadoka
Beautiful cafe with seats overlooking the Onna Bay, which we recommend the Taco Rice and Dokadoka Pizza here. They are both delicious.
243-1 Maeganeku, Onna, Kunigami District, Okinawa 904-0414
-Hirata Tsukemono
This place has been making tsukemono (pickled vegetables) for over 60 years. Try the Shima Rakkyo and which is something you can find only in Okinawa. I like the plain salted ones while Satoshi prefers the kimchi Shima Rakkyo.
2 Chome-7-10 Matsuo, Naha, Okinawa 900-0014
-Ukishima Brewing
Our favorite place for local craft beer in Naha. Super chill place with a great vibe, try their beers with some tasty food. Conveniently located in the back streets of Naha.
3-1-1 Makishi 3F, Naha 900-0013 Okinawa Prefecture
-Dachibin
Enjoy authentic Okinawan cuisine at Dachibin, located just a few minutes walk from Miebashi Station. Housed in a renovated traditional Okinawan building, this was some of the best Okinawan food we had. They also have a huge variety of Awamori, Okinawa’s preferred drink.
2 Chome-18-1 Kumoji, Naha, Okinawa 900-0015
-Blue Seal Parlor Mizuhara
You can find Blue Seal everywhere in Okinawa. It’s no wonder because they have the best ice cream on the island. Shinichi’s favorite: Chinsuko (okinawan cookies) Satoshi’s favorite (mango).
3 Chome-1 Makishi, Naha, Okinawa 900-0013
Our favorite Japanese snacks and ingredients are here! Check out our Amazon Store.

The montage at the beginning was beautiful Shinichi.👍🏻 Glad to see "no hat" Satoshi made an appearance... very handsome indeed. 😍 I remember when you had that tea w/foam, that was the day you got your favorite mug. I hope you finally got your tea pot too. And Satoshi would love this place here called World of Beer. They give you samples of the beers they have on the menu and there's 100's of craft beers from all around the world on the menu to try.🍻😋

No wonder you went to Okinawa! There’s a Pokémon event going on. I have to admit, every time I see a price on the screen, I end up reading it in Japanese. Mainly from my fandom with One Piece, I’ve figured out Japanese numerals.

Mahalo for another Okinawa video. I've been there twice for the 2006 and 2016 Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival. I hope I can make it to next year's. You brought back so many memories of the food and the people. Playing that Uchinanchu music in the background was so nostalgic for me as my mom would always have the radio tuned in for it on Sundays. Shinichi, we both need to go back and visit our moms in Hawaii. Hopefully the pandemic will lessen so that we can get back there soon.

The taco rice looked great. Tex mex "Mexican" rice is great with those ingredients, so it makes sense to me that the white Japanese rice would work with it too. And I can imagine it working even better actually. Travelling vicariously, thank you. :) Also wish I could try the pickled pork ear. I'm pretty sure that I would love it.

Okinawa looks so pretty! Would love to visit that place you had breakfast at. Also, the place you had lunch at...who am I kidding, I want to visit all those places except for the beer place only because I'm allergic to beer. Sea grapes are also used in salads in the Philippines (we call them lato here). When I was a student, I worked at a restaurant and I accidentally left the sea grapes soaking for too long (you're just supposed to rinse them quickly) and they shrank and wilted! Thankfully I didn't get yelled at :D

The taco rice is the same recipe as when I make taco salad...the only difference is that I spoon the rice, taco meat and toppings over crushed tortilla chips. ✌🏻😊 BTW, rice & Tex-mex aren’t odd together....there are a lot of burritos and nachos that have rice in them. And every Mexican restaurant I’ve been to the standard sides they serve with their dinners are rice, beans and chips w/salsa
