I just downloaded the plans and have started construction. My shop is a 2 car garage, but because of needing an additional repair bench(business) and a reloading bench(hobby), I'm a little constrained on space both storage and working. my plan is to shorten your plan by 2', which only requires the length dimension change and to add a shelf to the long open end to double storage capacity under the bench. My saw is the same as yours so no further modifications will be necessary. it should be a fun build. Great plans.

Anthony, the bench is complete now, except for more drawers. I intend to enclose the sections I don't have drawers going in. Great videos! Keep them coming.

I made an outfeed table and cut ~1” holes in the bottom shelf above those adjustable feet, so all I need to do to adjust is stick a screwdriver (or drill for large adjustments) in that hole to adjust the legs - no lying on the floor adjusting in cramped spaces. Just a suggestion!

First of all, kudos to Bob Barker and his awesome and indispensable contributions to your bench build. I have a King Charles that keeps me sane in my shop. The simplicity of this build makes it just that much more special and repeatable for someone like me. I'm finally going to be purchasing my table saw this winter and have looked at several integrated benches and really like the approach you took with this one. You have enough lapping of the joints to insure good stability without getting outrageous with some of the mystery puzzle piece joinery I've viewed on others. They are beautiful and clever, but at the end of the day, it's a workbench and I don't want to be afraid to work on it. I also like your solution to leveling and mobility, like the rest of the bench, it's simple and effective. I wanted to pass along my thanks for taking the time to explain and clearly demonstrate the build ... you even disclose a Mulligan or two in the process. Very few of us can get through a complete project like this error free ... it's the human thing to do ... including it in the video gives the rest of us a bit of confidence knowing were not alone. Consider me a new sub ... Cheers my friend ...

GREAT build. I am in a one car garage and this will work for me. I like the fact that the 2X4's are on the inside of the legs so you have a place to clamp projects. Pro Tip, make the saw frame loose and adjust it to the finished height with the saw on the base. The only thing I will add is dust collection for the saw, it spits sawdust EVERYWHERE! !! !!!

Just a shout out and a thank you! I just finished your design for the work bench and enjoying its functionality. I am going to install a T track on the larger side bench.

As a non-track saw buyer myself, I bought a 100” cutting guide to go with my circular saw. I got the Kreg one and it works well but I saw a better option at Home Depot for like $30. It’s only two pieces of aluminum so less error when joining the two tracks than 4 with the Kreg.

Nice! (my only suggestion would be to use 3/4" plywood for a base then recess screw a 1/4" piece of plywood on top of that for the finished table top. easy to replace the 1/4" when the time comes. :)

I bought your plans and I ended up using my 30 year old Craftsman table saw. It needed a little work, but now it runs like a charm. The thing is I did have to make adjustments as my saw was a little deeper than the Dewalt saw that you used. I also had to make it a few inches in width shorter , so that when it rolled into my shed it would fit through my door. Mine ended up being 42" wide. Still plenty of working room.After it was done the drawer in the front just seemed to deep. Yours must of been deeper., Or i missed a step. It fit a lot of things and sturdy enough for weight but things were hard to find with the deepness. So i decided to make it into two drawers. The top drawer being 4 to 5" tall, fit most of the small tools while working with wood, and the bottom drawer was about 6 to 7" tall. I put a notch on the top bottom drawer to use it to pill open, and a notch on the bottom side of the top drawer to pull open. Now I did have to use 1/2" plywood around my notch to close it in 1 1/2" rectangular notch out inside to close it in and to get your fingers in there. But overall it was fun to build. I used the far back of the table to mount me a a router under neath with t track. I put electrical plugs in so that everything can be plugged in and also I had a spare battery charger so i screwed that behind my saw to the side. I mounted a measuring tape holder on the front so that i can always have a tape measure. I put in a crank pencil sharper with a place to hold pencils. Last thing I did was to make a holder for all my battery powered drills. Made a place to put my pipe clamps. Anyways your plans were great and as I was building it lots of things kept pooping in my mind to make it a one stop bench with accessories.

I really like the bench!! So much so, I bought the plans. I'm going to make additions to your plans and make miter saw station on one of the sides (remove the saw and add a top to cover the shelf the miter saw sets on) and also install a bench wood vise opposite end of the table saw. I think I'll add bench dog holes on the end by the vise, too. Thanks a lot for the video. It sparked thoughts of "grandeur"...at 3 AM out of a sound sleep! 😁

Do watch your fingers with a nailer. Sometimes they can double fire in the same place so the 1st nail that left the gun is going to deflect and wonder away from just going straight (which means if your fingers are in line, the nail may travel into your digits) (eg watch your fingers when nailing a corner together).

I used those casters making my workbench. I was very disappointed in them. They are dangerous (tripping hazard) but they kept popping open tilting my workbench. The popping was a very loud sound scaring me. I went with conventional swivel casters with brake. Nice job on your workbenck really nice video.

Anthony, I wanted to thank you for your excellent video and plans. I built my first workbench following your plans (with a few modifications) and am very happy with the result. Recently we replaced an old wooden garage door with a new one, and I recycled all the plywood and 2 x 4s from that door (more than 40 years old) and did not have to buy any wood for the project except 1/4" masonite for the top and some trim. I doubled 2 x 4s instead of using 4 x 4s for the legs, and I eliminated the drawer, as I thought that space would be good for storing a cross-cut sled, and I plan to install a router plate at the end opposite the table saw next.

Pretty sweet table my friend. I’m searching for ideas to add in my new garage. I think building this table will suffice my woodworking needs. You should add a nice stain or even polyurethane to the top of the table. It will both help glide your future cuts along as well as protect it over time. Birch is durable but pretty soft which could dent up over time. But hey you built yourself a pretty great mobile table for a 1/3 of paying for one. Well done to ya boys!

FYI the little “wedge” piece you used to strengthen the sides are actually called gussets. Also the micro jig grrr-ripper is made so you don’t have to reposition it just keep going in one motion. If you have a really long piece your working with then it’s recommended you have two micro jig grrr-rippers. Great work bench by the way.

Very nice, I intend to build this but instead of centering the saw I will put it to the far left and use the extra space on the right to create a router table, use the saws fence for both!

I’m currently building my own right now, I added on an attachment piece for my homemade router table, but I’m currently remodeling the table saw part because I made mine ghetto. I also made a nice slot at the bottom for me to store my planer and a secondary drawer for all my tools and on the opposite side I hang my power tools. Mine is pimped out. Not sure what the hell to do with my miter saw and I still want to buy a jointer and I corporate it in somehow. Maybe make another attachment piece.

take a scrap of 1" lumber and screw it to the miter gauge. Easy way to keep stock from moving.

Nice bench. I would like to build something similar, but I use a dado stack frequently and need to remove the riving knife. It looks like the handle on the left side of the saw is blocked by plywood. I might see if I can add some hinges to lift the small tabletop to the left of the saw so I can access the riving knife release.
