Xavi was smart enough to used Arujo at wing back instead of using Kounde at wing back because Arujo is faster than Kounde so this made Arujo more suitable for Vini 🤔

I thought Barca didnt always press that intense comparing to their own standarts, gavi and pedri sometimes stayed in the midfield and tried to cut off the passing lanes. Real CB had the ball in those occasions but could not do anything with it.

Gavi was played as an inverted winger making the pressure and overload on RM right wing too much for Carvajal to handle. I believe this is the best use of Gavi so far.

The system is similar to Spain 2012 Euro winning eleven. Where Xavi played in Pedris role. Xabi Alonso and Busi, as de Jong and Busi. Key differences are that Lewy isnt a false nine like Cesc and Dembele stays wider than Silva did. Other than that, it is very, very similar. And that system was and still is one of the best and most beautiful systems tactically, it translates so well on the pitch.

Xavis team on and off the ball were dominant, using a five man front line and constantly rotating the players around to draw the defenders out was a key part to them creating space which lead to chances on goal. Off the ball they stopped the oppositions side main ball progresser and this helped to reduce less attacks since they struggled to get the ball forward.

Gavi is fantastic.... Last time when real madrid beat barca by 3-1 I noticed they got scored in the 2 nd half when Gavi is on the pitch and changed the game. Another goal chance was missed by Lewa also that time. And Benzeme just touched the golden boy Gavi... and the sweet revenge now.

One of the things I noticed most with Gavi and Pedri is that they changed positions. Typically, Pedri used to be the false winger/ 4th midfielder, and this time, this was asigned to Gavi, which has way more stamina and aggresiveness than Pedri, allowing Pedri to participate more in the creative aspects of the game, in a sort of offensive midfielder, while Gavi would be more a sort of a false second striker (false 9 without being the 9 itself), that would allow him to both combine with the midfield but also make runs into space, something that Pedri did way less, being the center of the game creation and transition into 3/4. Almost all the attacks would pass through him or Gavi, but more even through him due to being the man recieving in the front of the area or the beginning of 3/4 to give the last pass. Besides, the lanes played way more together in the game, and that would allow Pedri to change his position either with Frenkie or Gavi when needed, having Frenkie playing sometimes the ball in deep runs, or Gavi dropping down to create with the midfield and making the defense of Real Madrid look quite confused.
