Let's say that Uruguay goes to group A with Argentina, and Colombia to group D with Brazil, (or viceversa, Col with Arg and Uru with Bra), now the US and Mexico have the daunting task of facing any of those 4 teams if they advance from their groups, regardless of being 1st or 2nd, how do you like like their chances now, of going past to the quarters? Never heard really before, Concacaf team winning this Copa America for the first time is not any make sense because this major tournament goes to South American, not North America. The practical answer: right now, NO. Can this team and coaching make a respectable finish (top 4)? YES. we are effective enough and this particular tournament is being played in the USA. Played anywhere else, we struggle to leave a group and leave in first elimination. We are garbage on the road so our only chance is this at home tournament. Chances for any other team in CONCACAF? No. Mexico is the best bet over USA, but they have done more to weaken themselves than we’ve done ourselves. Our league is a punching bag for CONEMBOL. Mexico has had more experience in this tournament, but they get pummeled by South America. I want to see good showings for our teams, but South America is a different beast. We don’t have the ability. I want USA and Mexico to move to CONEMBOL and struggle so they become better. But that would mean not being the Big Fish and having to put in real work in finding real world class coaches.

I don't see that happening now. The big problem for the USA is that they don't produce good attackers very often. The last good striker you trained was London Donavan. Then I even saw good players, but immature, confused and not very decisive when it came to scoring a goal. It's something we call here in Brazil "The Killer". That guy doesn't forgive a chance in front of goal, that guy who won't tremble, won't make mistakes, cold, decisive. You don't make players like that. They produced good defensive and midfield players. Your captain in the world cup is an excellent player... but he's a midfielder, your problem has never been in the middle. Argentina were world champions in 1986 and tjen had to wait until 2021 to win their next tournament, the Copa America. In that same time period Uruguay won 3 Copa Americas (one against Maradona's Argentina in 87 and one against Messi's Argentina, both in Argentinean soil), and also made it to a World cup Semi final (2010) (and placed over argebtina in 2018). Yes tehy have played more atractive football, but they have also played less effective football. Second, The US an México think theybare on par, currently, because they sometime beat, but a lot of time tiebwith teams that would have a hard tine putting up a match against the lowest performing teams in CONMEBOL.... Anything can happen during a 90 minute match, but I'd bet as a whole CONCACAF teams ar in for a rude awakaning.

There are a bunch of teams that don't even play football, they play baseball there are only 4-5 teams that might compete after that no one plays the game. Champion would be in between Arg, Bra, Uru, Col. Maybe some near future Concacaf level will elevate but for now it is very low compare to Conmebol. I mean Mx was pulled into the cup cheating on Honduras with ridiculous extra time and then the penalty kick that was repeated 3 times, it's ridiculous, other wise Mx was going to have to go to an extra tournament to qualify but you cannot do that because there is no stadiums to fill out is Mx is not there. Right now Columbia and Uruguay are on fire. They are beating Brazil and Argentina left and right. And Tac completely overlooked Columbia. Most likely the Copa will be won by one of those teams. I think the USMNT “COULD” win Copa America with the RIGHT coach but they don’t have a chance with GGG. The current coach doesn’t plan for different scenarios, is terrible at in-game adjustments, and refuse to test different styles of play to prepare for teams that will “park the bus” on us in CONCACAF & still be ready to compete against the best 15 teams in the world. I have no sense that GGG has a team of coaches who are good at the parts of the job that he is weak at, refuses to consider building the team around creativity in the attack or counterattack, instead INSISTING on playing crosses into the box when we have ZERO players who are good at hitting crosses and ZERO players who are good at creating goals FROM crosses. When a coach from another CONCACAF team can describe how you beat the GGG-led USMNT with INFERIOR talent across the board with the opposite team within 5 minutes, it is clear to me that this team isn’t going to reach it’s potential until they have a coach who is capable of extracting the best version of this team with the talent that is available….
