More undead fun: Undead units can not be moved past when they are corpses. So, if you have maps that have chokepoints, you can just park an undead unit or two in the chokepoints, let them die, and force the opponent to waste turns at said chokepoint doing nothing or to move a lot further to get to your army. This works for any level of undead, so you can take a couple severely under-leveled undead units into a map and have them completely shut off an advance of enemies, or even split up an enemy army. There's a few fights with undead Griffons/Cockatrice (I don't know if Phonba has them for recruiting), so you can pick them up, leave them underleveled, and only deploy them on specific maps where blocking off a path completely changes battle strategy. To be specific, the last fight of Chapter 3 Chaos, there is a 3-grid are where you can block off like 66% of the enemy forces from advancing and swarming you if you get positioned correctly. I think, with the Griffon's innate speed advantage + move, you could just park them in that grid and completely change one of the hardest fights in the game.

Switching to Light affinity for heals adds an additional 10% of your MND score(for 15% total, they normally use 5%). It's not much, but heals need all the help they can get.

The switching to dark was pretty clever. Kudos 🎉

dex provides better damage bonuses than strength for certain weapons, such as ranged, 1h katanas, and daggers (maybe other weapons as well)

I got the no incapatitation title recently, including doing the whole palace of the dead before the end of chapter 4 without any undead but if what you said is true, it would have been so much easier lol.

Another thing about shots that just came to me: The damage from shots carries over to when you replay the game and go down other paths. So, when you go back to Chapter 2, Chapter 3, even though your stats get synched down, your weapon skill remains the same, so you can still throw 300+ damage AoEs with your lobbers to people with 600-700 health. It makes running through the earlier chapters real easy and trivial.

In case no one has mentioned if you have any dragons of any element you can just use an elemental charm on the dragon to change it over. For example I missed getting an arc dragon and weirdly like a cloud, but I had 3 flood dragons I just used charms on them and changed them over to the missing one worked fine for getting Deneb and the requisite orbs.

Thank goodness these were tips and tricks, I was following your live sessions of the game and was like, on no did he miss major content in the first three chapters, a little bit of worry for this video when I heard it was your next one because restarting would be tragic haha. The first three chapters seemed to be pretty linear though so not too much panic. The orbs from beasts is neat because there were a few dragons I didn't want to get rid of. Wishing you the best, keep up the good content, I just got into triangle strategy off your recommendation.

Zombie Necromancers are incredible for an undead team - I have two in my Palace-clearing team and they can just chain-rez each other with Animate Dead.

I find deploying zombie dragons extremely useful in achieving no incapacitation in Palace of the Dead. While skeletons and other undead units don't count as incapacitation, zombie dragons are exceptionally good due to Dragon Scales. Palace of the dead have many tough enemy mages, especially story battles like the wicce boss Beelzebuth. With Dragon Scales though, these bosses are easily beat. For my account I venture into Palace of the Dead as early as Lv.32, recruiting all 8 zombie dragons in Vasque Village at Lv.32 (have to be really patient and bring appropriate tanks like golems to tank the boss). Then I recruit more zombie dragons + zombie mages at Lv.37, Lv.40, Lv.45 at different floors to make up for level differences. I fight the necromancer boss (floor 22), and the 2 Beelzebuth battles with the following team: Denam (mandatory, too under-leveled to do jack lol), zombie mage (highest level possible, can be a warlock/wizard), and 8 zombie dragons (levels vary from 40-45). The key of this team are winged rings (which require several runs from floor 18 to 25) and the Cudgel Enchiridion. Let the dragon zombies equip the winged rings and give the zombie mages all the crafted wands needed. Those wands give +5 range and 3 uses of 100MP recharge so they are extremely useful. The strategy is very simple: have the zombie dragons group together and charge for enemy boss. Wicce Beelzebuth is very likely to hurt herself due to dragon-scale and our zombie dragons will receive MP really fast because enemy will focus fire on them. Our zombie dragons can throw rocks at the boss and breath the boss with enough MP. The boss should go down real fast with dragons teaming up, and if additional fire is necessary, have the zombie mage fire some magic on the boss as well. With the above zombie dragons + zombie mage team, I was able to reach floor 78 with no incapacitations when my union level was still 32 (could still go on with no incapacitation but the battles became a slow drag). This team is flexible too, it can be 4 zombie dragons + 4 zombie mages, or 8 zombie dragons + 4 zombie mages depending on the deployment number. Another advantage with this team is that the Lanselot and Brantyn fight are trivialized because your zombies' levels are actually higher so you just overwhelm them lol

Ohhh, so *that's* why a higher-attack weapon was sometimes lowering overall attack! I couldn't figure that out at all yesterday. That explains a lot! I knew most of these things but for some reason I assumed elemental affinities on weapons were just a bit of bonus damage and not actually an *affinity* that can either harmonize or conflict with the wielder's element. That's pretty cool.

Really enjoying your videos. I suspect it won't get as much views, but the Tactics Ogre game for the GBA was great too.

i learned abouth the elemntal alignment with finishers when i unlocked the 3th finisher on denam with spears and he happend to be lighting element ,whent into a fight and after picking up a physical card i tryed it out and hit morer then 1k where as my other finishers would aonly hit like 600

The option to auto-skip battle messages was a huge thing. It was so annoying trying to AI easier levels in the PotD and coming back to see someone had a skill dialogue after turn one lol. Yeah my Lord is electric elemental because I use Giga Tempest all the time.

As an addendum, some species that don't appear to have access to a class that can be light or dark might be able to be liches or might be recruitable from enemies with 'impossible elements'. So if you want a dark gryphon, Andoras can spawn with a dark gryphon in the front, despite gryphons not being able to use dark or light charms. The Pirate's Graveyard can have an ice lich in a non-story battle. If you want Iuria or Canopus to use the jiggly set, use a ring of the dead to make them a lich and force the dark element onto them, then swap back to archer. If you're upset that your lizardman juggernaut can't be a dark element to match with the fancy fist weapons, you might be out of luck... but orcs can be terror knights and juggernauts, and lamia can be witches and juggernauts (I think witches can use the dark charm?). I really wanted a holy fairy familiar or a dark gremlin familiar, but I think I'm out of luck there, unless you know of a workaround =(

Does the class changing + changing element technique work with Lich or are they always locked into dark? I tried it with Shaman but apparently they are locked into their native element… (for ex Shaman Sherri is perma-locked into earth).

could you make a video explaining the icons with numbers on page 3 of armors details and on page 1 of weapons? I can't find anywhere in game that explains these. I don't know if they are good or bad, I assume good (bonuses) but I am not sure. Even hovering over them tells me nothing. Also information about them online seems lacking or that could just be I don't know how to describe them to look them up.

I was wondering if matching elements boosted your attacks, coming from Pokemon with its Same Type Attack Bonus. Glad to know they do! These guides are awesome. In original LUCT, you can find elemental orbs as buried treasure. Not sure if this is true for this game, as I haven't played it yet. The rarity of what you find for buried treasure is based on luck in the original game.

Funny that Statfood is mentioned, because it sucks now, i had Denam eat 10 steaks and didnt get any stat increase (it is giving out under one stat point per consumtion but less than 0.1 is terrible), that is a big downgrade compared to the food cost increase from the psp version. Not that i complain, stat cards are very common if you want to boost one unit to the sky.

I love tactic games, but this one had me lost, buying new equipment is uncomfortable because it doesnt tell you if you're buying something better than the stuff you're already using. It's like that or I'm just dumb? lol. I would love if someone help me understand that
