this was right after the end of WW2, so the US had LOTS of surplus military gear lying around, same for the Soviets, what better use for it than giving it to our allies who need it?
@KalashVodka1753 жыл бұрын
@@militaristicsoldier856 The US still used many ww2 gears in the korean war too, including M1 garand

Correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t the South Koreans using US m1 garand and if so where’s the ping.
@maleficusvictor98874 жыл бұрын
The "Pings" came with the chinese invasion kkkkkkkkkk
@user-eh2mi2oh4h11 ай бұрын
You hear them throughout the movie. Watch part one of this video, you’ll hear the signature ping of the m1 garand.

Wait, why are there WW2 airplanes? The Korean War was the end of WW2 airplanes, in many images you can see jet fighters and jet bombers.
@thunderbird19212 жыл бұрын
Actually, the B-29 Superfortress bomber (which appears to the planes flying overhead in this scene) and several other WWII-built prop planes (the Corsair notably) were used throughout the conflict, even after jets began to be used as well. Pretty impressive attention to detail by the South Korean filmmakers here!

So if the SKs received U.S. gear, uniforms, armored, and planes why did they lose the war?
@allghilliedup212 жыл бұрын
If the US had utmost technological superiority, why did they lose the Vietnam War? LOL. Same shit. Technology isn't the only thing to win a war. And btw: No one lost the Korean War. No peace treaty was ever signed, only a ceasefire. To this day, they're still at war but neither side has the stomach to resume the war again. South Korean troops were poorly trained. You can only do so much giving updated weapons to poorly trained soldiers. Oh and there's that part about China entering the war in the winter of 1950 with overwhelming manpower. Do your research, bruh.

The Korean people must unite. Neither China, Russia nor the USA, the EU are friends of Korea. Korea's friend is itself again!
