Lot of people ask where I got my exoskeleton-looking shin guards, and this is the event that I got them from. I think they are the safest shin guards to spar with. I loved the protective gear that I got to keep from this tournament. I felt like Megaman.
The refereeing was not necessarily world-class, but it was REALLY fun to fight in front of a passionate crowd that knew the rules and knew when to cheer/boo. No kyungos were given for falling or running out of bounds.
After the match, we bowed to the audience while this strange Spanish song was playing. We had no idea what the song was saying so we were smiling and thanking everyone for the good time we had. I did keep hearing the word "llorando", which means crying. It turns out that the song was repeatedly saying "Don't cry little baby~ go home!". I thought that was hilarious.
